Well, check again.PoorOldSpike wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 10:58 pmIf that's a question mate, the answer is that arty firing direct against spotted units inflicts more damage than arty firing blind bombardments against invisible enemies. I just ran this 7.1.8 vanilla test to confirm it-GabeKnight wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 3:18 pm..There's no (or negligible) damage difference whether you bombard an enemy land unit or fire on it with LOS.
BTW, there's still the old graphical bug left, that does not update the strength plates correctly. You have to select the enemy unit and check the unit stats in the UI. But it should be updated on every turn start.

Thanks mate that's good news so I've just started a new thread entitled "Blind bombardments DO hurt ground units" to illustrate it..GabeKnight wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:36 pmBTW, there's still the old graphical bug left, that does not update the strength plates correctly. Returning to this "Submarine Warfare" thread, I've just run some blind bombardment tests against subs (below), but they have no effect against subs whether they're surfaced or submerged; their strength and efficiency stay at maximum even after waiting a turn to see if they update-

Below: Surfaced and submerged stats stay the same after being bombarded-

Below: And for good measure I also plastered this jap destroyer with blind bombardments but when I sent this C-47 to peek, it saw that the bombardments had no effect, confirmed by the fact that the ships stats never updated on subsequent turns
