Yes, that's right, you have broken the unspoken code, and mentioned The Forbidden. An enormous swarm of Hit-Gerbils are already on their way to enforce the sanction, each tiny assassin clad in black trenchcoat and mirror shades...Switzer wrote:Thats a relief thought id transgressed the unwritten law
whatever that is
Nothing so esoteric, I fear.

Yes it was a bit painful. Anyone who registered in the last month will have their account wiped
We learned some lessons and once we get this fixed it shouldn't be possble that it happens again. As well as the backups to the server we will be backing up to an external ftp in some way so nobdoy can wipe us out again. In some ways it's lucky that we recently moved as it's only the backup from the moving process that we had stored externally. All the passwords have also been reset.

Another Aspect of the Problem
Hi,
Also got a slightly strange effect since the 'problem', which is the green buttons don't show up any more to indicate new topics and replies. This had only recently started working with Firefox (which is what I use as a browser), which is why I wonder if it might also have something to do with the 'problem'.

Check if you are signed in. I noticed that too but then realised I was not signed in. Resetting the server must wipe the cookie that signs you in automatically and the read/not read symbols are only set for users, not guests.jcmedhurst wrote:Hi,

Green buttons now appearing. Woo-hoo. No intervention required on my part, maybe the cookie is there now.stenic wrote:Check if you are signed in.
