Looking at a Swiss army in 25mm looking for good figures in UK are there any plastic that would fitr in with the period.

Check out Wargames Factory, they are a bit behind their initially planned schedule but it looks like they may be about to start churning our 28mm plastics of all sorts.

That said the 1/72 soft plastics look fine based up for FoG, I would just avoid mixing them with any of the modern 28mm figures.
Personally all but one of my '25mm' armies are actually 1/72nd plastics but I expect that I may end up buying some 28mm plastics in the future.
