hi ,
i m french , sorry for my bad english:
my wishes for this game are:
- some missions more "local", more historical , just for example, i would like one like this:
- you command the "kieffer french commando" at the D-Day : historicaly, u have to debark on sword beach and take Ouistram casino with 177 men. So u have 5-6 infantery units with 1 mortar and an hero.
U have to cross the beach, then cross the city and attack the casino.( Historically, u have to find a sherman not far) . it is a fast but not easy mission, u have some informations on historical facts. your mission is to do better than history! (there was many deads)
So why not plenty of missions like this one? instead of a big campaign. No choice in the units at the begginning, exact historical facts.

Re: Panzer Corps Priorities - Your Opinions
"Exact" is difficult without precise scale of events - and game mechanics doesn't fit small number of units well, too. Most scenarios are at a bit larger scale - representing an entire operation (or at least major part of it) instead of a single tactical episode.
With that caveat, I'd say what You ask for is already done - just play a series of scenarios instead of campaign. But note that in this case Your result from one scenario is irrelevant for the next one - You get historical result instead. Campaign tries to modify historical events if Your result is much better than historical.

Considering some of the fantastic suggestions in this thread I'm a BIT disappointed what ended up in 1.30. The only things addded were basically minor things that should have been in the game from the start. Oh well. I am VERY disappointed that the unit bonuses are still not visible in the UI. That was just as often requested as the things that were added and would have been just as easy to implement. Oh well.

Already done - thank You!Zero1627 wrote:The most important one: special abilities. (...) there's absolutely no information about them in unit stats (as available in the game).

Re: Panzer Corps Priorities - Your Opinions
I think we need more specific Campaign (EPIC battles)... we have now very nice Grand Campaign. But if you want play something specific, great breakpoint in war you must play trough half campaign... and you play this battle one time, or maybe twice. I think best idea with this specific Campaign was Operation Sea Lion. We need something similiar to epic battles! Stalingrad... Everybody want play hard in Stalingrad, more complex, taking street by street or defend Gumrak... try to take Stalingrad before winter or maybe better encirclement whole city... this campaing will be deserve more than 12 scenario and even more with different path and with decisive victory maybe you can take whole city. Something similiar i expect for Leningrad and of course Sevastopol... for Allies for example D-DAY (deserve more than one scenario!) ...
Re: Panzer Corps Priorities - Your Opinions
I'd like a tooltip that tells you which victory conditions you are currently fulfilling on a scenario (unless there's a mod that already does). More than once I've lost because I counted up my victory hexes wrong.

At the moment you have to rely on in-game messages to remind you of victory conditions or progress towards them.
I suspect it's quite hard to implement a comprehensive system because victory conditions can be so varied.
However, a casualty report for the current scenario would help especially if it included the following:
enemy towns held, friendly towns held
enemy victory hexes held and friendly victory hexes held
enemy special units killed and friendly special units remaining.

This was in Post number 1 in this thread....KeldorKatarn wrote:....adress some issues in the replay player (doesn't react to button presses asychronously, sometimes you have to mash the pause button to get the replay to pause)
This clearly didn't get done as I reported this in the Techical Support area (http://www.slitherine.com/forum/viewtop ... 46&t=75853).
Replay as far as I'm concerned responds to no user input at all apart from the initial "run" which makes it unsable as a game feature.
