This is not something the game is officially supporting, but since it is just the flag textures which fail to be generated we might be able to provide a solution. Please keep an eye on this thread.

I also installed 2 gig more of ram for 8 total. My mouse pointer is a pulsating box now instead of a pointer? Along with the terribly jerky scrolling and the units moving with a jerky motion, I really give up this time! I liked it better with black flags!Tombstone wrote:I installed a GeForce video card. All of my other games run great, including the old SSG games that wouldn't run before I installed the video card. I lose one game and pick-up five more. A good trade I guess....

Re: Black Flags
With a dedicated gfx card, you should be fine.
The pulsating box is the selection mouse isn't it? Seems odd that it would be showing all the time.
I'm sure we can get you up an running. When you installed the gfx card, did you get the latest drivers from NVidia (from the manufacturers website, not from windows update)?
If it's constantly jerky, there might be a hint as to why in your output_log.txt.

I went to NVidia website and downloaded the latest driver. That did the trick! Thanks for the help..Myrddraal wrote:With a dedicated gfx card, you should be fine.

Re: Black Flags
Great, glad to hear it. Graphics drivers are notorious, because you can 'get by' on outdated drivers, not really noticing that you've got a problem, until some weird issue comes up in a seemingly unique set of circumstances.
It's well worth periodically checking the manufacturer's updates.

Hi,
I just wanted to say, that I also have an issue with black flags. As far as I can tell, this should not be an issue of the graphic card (see below). Is someone still aware of the problem and working on it?
Since I couldn´t upload the dxdiag, here is the upper part of it (btw which attachment formats are actually allowed?):

Re: Black Flags
Thank you. Do you still need the dxdiag-file or is the information in my post above enough?

Re: Black Flags
When I enter some scenario to make sure all flags are OK and than go to Options -> Performance -> Render Quality and set render quality from default Good to Low and than exit to Desktop, start the game again I have black flags occurrence.
If the whole process is repeated but now returning render quality to Good and exiting to Desktop, on my return to game flags are normal again. Hope it can help to some of you.

Re: Black Flags
Oh well, when i change setting of render quality on the "Average" value and restart game, then all flags ok. If i set on th "Low" or "Lowes" value, the all flags black.
Thanks a lot, it is so good WA
