Hammy,
As far as I remember I kept modifying the first post, so that the first post is the end result of the thread. If you want to sticky it, consider keeping the initial post and just removing everything afterwards, if you want to tidy it up.
Or feel free to just cut and paste as much of it as you like into a new thread. I don't care who'se name it is under, I just want the info to get out to newbs who might get as confused as I did when I first played the game

You last edited the first post on April 10 and the one (big) common mistake after that which should be added is Hammy's
"One of the things that this thread does make clear is that a lot of people seem to only read half a rule or that having read the full rule they decide that as the rule is obviously too simple there must be more to it.
The long and short of it is that the vast majority of the rules are very clear and mean exactly what they say."
Sticky would make sense.
What I'm doing in the rather different tactical tips collection thread is putting the last-revised date up top in the initial post, so people can immediately determine whether there's anything new added.
This would work nicely here, since you seem to be adding new stuff to the end they can then look down and see the new stuff easily.
Thanks,
Mike

Another common mistake you might add: that charge direction is declared when a charge is declared, when actually it is declared when it becomes necessary to implement the charge sequence of play. Therefore the opposing player is subject to uncertainty as to where and how much the charger may wheel, which particularly affects evade paths.
This seems to be a bad thing. The rules state that an evader can evade either directly to his own rear or directly away from the charge. How can he evade directly away from the charge if the direction of charge is not known? Ditto Interception. How can I intercept if the charge direction is not known? How is an interceptor supposed to cross the charge path if it is a mystery?

It will be - if you declare your units to be evading the charger must then indicate the direction of the charge so you know which way is directly away. You don't necessarily know the exact direction when you declare an evade - but it is usually fairly clear what is likely.gozerius wrote:This seems to be a bad thing.
