Sanitäter

German Sanitäter units were trained for selfdefense. They even had 75mm artillery to protect themself.

To bad there isn't a function In the game where a medical unit like this one awesome icon you just made could have a small effect on other infantry based units strength number instead of always using prestige. You could do the same thing with armored units having vehicle repair battalions. fuel truck would be cool to. you could make the capturable or assign prestige to the player that destroyed them!!! this would put rear area units back into the game :) just a thought if any panzer corps game designers are watching :)

I am thinking about that for a long time. The biggest problem is that the AI will not understand things. For example: With the switch button you can change the status of the unit. I did this with the Cavalry being mounted or unmounted. In the game we see that the AI is using this function also and it works fine. I like recovery units very much and made a construction for panzers with a switchmode with 3 functions:
1 The panzer
2 Recovery (like a bergepanther for a panther unit. The movement number for this unit is higher. So when your panzer is at the front and the strenght is reduced very much by the enemy, you can switch to recovery mode to pull back from the front further than the panzer unit could do itself.)
3 Transport mode (Sdkfz-9 with SdAnh-116 tanktransport with high wheel movement.
It works wonderfull manuel but the AI can not handel it. The AI will go for the highest movement and al the panzers will sent into battle in recovery or transport mode.)

Anyone with ideas please help, it will be so great if we could use all kind of special units in the game.

@PHCAS: If you can entice Rezaf, Bebro or Nico into looking at these types of modifications, maybe they could figure out how to do it. My head hurts if I try to figure out stuff like that.

isnt there a trait's Function in the equipment file called "Primary" ?!?!? wouldn't that keep the AI unit fixed on the main unit and not the transport???

That will not work. The Cavalry mounted is "Primary" and unmounted is "nopurchase". The AI is switching in the game.

Mercedes-Benz LG3000 radiotruck

How to use radio/HQ units in the game: Let them use the switch button in the game. In "Travel mode" the unit has a spotting of 1 and a movement of 6. When using the switch button the unit will be "deployed", movement will be 0 than and spotting will be 5. This simulates the overview of the battlefield the unit has becausse of all the information it gets by radio.

I'm very happy about this and can tell I already use a few of your units in my mod "Italia Victor!".
And I even create some bigunit with your backgrounds you published here too. :D

Thanks,
Peter
