I had a very similar result during playtesting. In fact I gave the Protestant army a bit better chance to win the battle than it had in reality. Otherwise it would be no challenge or fun, Tilly would just wipe you off the field.
Thanks for your kind words, Warlord156!Warlord156 wrote:Thanks Adebar, a truly great scenario.
A hard fought battle that became a slugging match in the centre. I managed to advance some units of cavalry across the landwher on my right that caused havoc to his left flank and routed a number of enemy units. Just as well, as I struggled to hold the rest of the line, especially in the centre where all was chaos and confusion. I managed victory by just 4%, had it not been for my cavalry on the right flank I would have lost for sure.
All in, a fantastic and fun scenario, very well made. The German names on units and landmarks is a nice touch, gave it a continental feel, which is missing from the original scenario's (or am I sounding a bit crazy)....
Well done my friend. You have set the standard for us all and put my meagre efforts to shame. Time to up my game I think....
Regards.
Odenathus's scenarios inspired me to name the units. It's a bit work but I think it's worth it. It's not too complicated, you might check the Squads.csv file in the senario folder.
Regarding the "continental feel": Apart for naming the units, I prefer to use the terrain sets for different seasons not geographic regions. While playing the vanilla game one must get the impression that Middle Europe (HRE) is a dark and sinister hole while good old England is a place of eternal spring and in South Europe the landscape is sun burnt all year and the cicadas are chirping even in winter.

The idea is to use the Northern Europe set for spring, the Southern Europe set for Summer and the Middle Europe set for autumn/winter (maybe that can be modded a bit ...); Stadtlohn is a late summer scenario and so I've choosen the Southern Europe terrain set.
Hey, and for nothing in the world I would call your scenarios a "meagre effort", I love them and am looking forward for more!
