Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
Oh, and another addition: standard Czechoslovak camo of 1938. Czech here for a nice drawing of a tank in this camo. It resembled the standard Polish camo (brown+sand+green), except hues were much brighter.

Wow, I didn´t know that kind of camo already exists in 1938.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
Much like the Austro-Hungarians before them, the Czechoslovak military was not very strict about particular patterns or colours. Anyway, here's something to test this camo with: a Skoda T21 tank. You probably know it as 40M Turan, as after the fall of Czechoslovakia the Hungarians bought the prototypes and started their serial production. More info (and versions) in my thread.Akkula wrote:Wow, I didn´t know that kind of camo already exists in 1938.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
I am requesting some assistance with a bit of an update for DCS. When rezaf and I were working on this tool, he was the real brains behind it, I only did the skins and stuff like that. He made the flag/nation application which allows the switch to national emblems on equipment so that it would work when one changes the skins on an icon.
I have been unable to reach rezaf unfortunately and am wanting to add some national emblems for the switch function.
Is anyone available or willing who could make/add some additional national symbols to this section of the DCS?
I would like to add Bulgaria, Romania, POA (Vlasov) and UPA (Ukraine Nationalist) symbols and I have them already made, just don't know how to add them to the current group to insert into the folder in DCS.
As a further solicitation of members input, I would like to ask that if you have any skins to contribute to the DCS feature (and I know that there are many through the years), please post a reply and give a link or post the skins in this thread. I would like to make a large group file by category of the DCS skins and thumbnails that people have done through the years. I have a large number of them, but doubt I have all of them.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
IIRC there was a poster named "Soderberg" (?) who had made lots of additional flags and flag icons a while ago. These could probably modified for DCS use. Not sure how exactly they need to be to work with DCS though.
Edit: Got the name wrong and on top of that confused the user names, sorry. Soldberg made gfx stuff, but the poster I actually meant here is called RumpNissen: http://slitherine.com/forum/viewtopic.p ... =flags+mod
Dunno if' he's still around or interested, but maybe you drop him a PM.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
BTW, speaking of DCS:
Not sure if rezaf is still reading here or if he has the time or intent to put further work into DCS, but an addition that would be quite helpful IMO would be an option to sort unit icons into different (sub)folders, like it is possible with skins.
Because the more icons+masks are made the longer the list becomes in DCS ... just saying...

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
Thanks for the tip about the mod, but this is something that is not the same thing I am hoping to get changed for DCS. It's a neat mod though. The nation symbols in the insignia folder of DCS is what I am hoping to add some more national emblems to.

I made adding new emblems as easy as possible - no changes to DCS are neccessary to make it happen, all you have to do is draw an insignia file by taking one of the existing ones as a basis and modifying it however you see fit. As soon as you restart DCS, it'll recognize the additional insignia and make it available to you.
Somebody (probably also you) already requested this and I had a look but found it too difficult to implement quickly. I may take another look when I get the chance, but I can't promise anything.bebro wrote:BTW, speaking of DCS:

I've happy to see people are still using my little tool after all these years. I'd never have thought people would make so many icons and masks for them to become too expansive without being sorted in folders.

This is wonderful rezaf. I am so glad to hear from you. I thank you for this information. I will certainly try it. In the meantime, I will write back in Pvt Email to your message I received in PM. Bless you my friend, you have done so much for this game. Some of us never forget.

Fully understandable. After all, those folders are just "nice to have" thingies...If I really did request that already I must be getting a 'lil bit senile...

Indeed... the addition of the option to organize the base icons in different folders would be a very wellcome addition to this, excellent, heavily used piece of software!!!
Thanks Rezaf!!

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
It has been a long time since I put anything on this thread about DCS that anyone would benefit from having. That being said, recently PHCAS made some great units at my request in his units thread and he inquired about masking and the DCS tool. So I made links to three tools that I thought would be useful to him. They are the Masking Tool instructions, DCS Beta version (with updated insiginia file) and the excellent DCS tool in Messman's great Amulet 200 that was beautifully organized. So here are the most updated links in Mediafire that I can provide:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/ssdpc ... orial.zipx
http://www.mediafire.com/download/2z8tn ... 4+BETA.zip
http://www.mediafire.com/download/8ho1t ... yshop.zipx
I hope everyone will enjoy them as much as I do. As I have always said, Rezaf is the brains behind DCS, all I did was some coloring.

Re: Dwight's Camo Sprayshop
Just a quick heads up, I'm currently trying to implement bebros feature request: grouping for icons.
Looking good so far, so this feature might actually make it in at long last.

Whatever Rezaf does or comes up with, you will be amazed and pleased. He is a wizard at this sort of thing. We are fortunate he is visiting the forum.
