Too much blue?

Post by nsquidc »

So I think I can refine my previous critique.

The Meuse is the blue line with a shade of green.
A river is a blue line.
The Axis boundry is the highlighted blue line.

This becomes especially confusing when the Axis boundry is on part of a river. Does the river continue? Or is that simply the boundry?

And is that a bridge, or a building in a town?

Does anyone else feel this way?

Press and hold on the map to hide the front lines and units. That way you can see the terrain more clearly.

Hope that helps!

I will say that I wish this game had come out in the summer (here in NA). All that blue just makes me feel soooo cold. :?

Also, if you zoom out, the rivers are *much* easier to see.

However, a "high-contrast" setting would be nice. I'd like to see the current evocative current art as default, but have an option for a more symbolic, easier-to-read mode (tree in bright green, road in bright red, river in bright blue, sort of thing) if my eyes are tired.

Quick tip.

Any boundaries that are rivers have non-linear (curved) lines.

All other non-river boundaries have straight lines.

I agree with both the OP and this.

I have a hard time distinguishing the river from the axis border, specially at night. Since rivers are such an important part of the game and since I had heard rave reviews about the "look and feel" of the game, that was probably my biggest surprise when I got the game - how hard it can be to see the rivers. These tips help (another tip is to look for the little bridges...) - but I think this issue could be improved...

Hey guys,

Just so you know, we're well aware of this issue. It's not likely to change for Bulge and at least there's no rivers in El Alamein .. but as for the other x number of games in the series we'll try to sort it out.
