Is it possible? What is the simplest way to do this?

Importing BA1 Campaigns to BA2
I think the best way to describe our operations to date is that they have violated every recognized principle of war.

Copying a BA1 campaign to BA2, it does show up...but it doesn't like it and throws a script error.

Yes i tried that, the exception was missing SKI from "prototypes.txt".

Yeah it's possible but you need to modify a lot of things into a lot of files. So good luck!
you must add the (new) TYPE SKI into the TERRAIN.TXT file (and the cost for each terrain for this type.)

Amaris,
So that would be the error as the editor was reading the .bam files and searching terrain.txt as it made a list of scenarios available to edit. Should the old squads.csv files work?

Re: Importing BA1 Campaigns to BA2
We've not put together a comprehensive guide to converting mods as yet - but I imagine we can come up with something once we have everything nailed down for BA2. But briefly:
1 - the ways squads files work is now different. A local squads file is now added to the end of the main game squads file unless the top left cell in the spreadsheet contains #REPLACE
2 - there are a couple of new required squads entires - the game error should inform you which columns are missing
Cheers

Hi Pip,
OK, so if the upper left column in Row 1 of the MP Campaign's Squads.csv says "#REPLACE" then the local file will not be created which should obviate the above error.
In concept it seems very efficient, allowing the choice of all available units from the Master, while still allowing any locally created units in a mod. So no built in 128 unit limit for availability in a Campaign. Very elegant, guys!
I'll stack up the new and old squads and suss out the new columns. It looks to me that some may have been inspired by these very same mods.
