For some reason I have a recollection that they didn't, but can't remember where I may have picked that up from. Also IIRC the landsknechts themselves stopped being so ostentatious during the second half of the C16th.
Yeah, and the winged Hussars probably never wore wings on the battlefield, but who is ever going to field them as such?

Hardly like with like, as we at least know they wore the wings at some time - although I must confess that were I doing a Polish army and thought they weren't worn in battle I probably would field them un-winged just to be different.

Additionally if (and as I said I cannot recall why I think they may not so could be mis-remembering) the Swiss did not wear plunderhosen it makes a nice difference between them and any landsknechts in the army which I'd see as a good thing.
Wow, how did I miss my chance to retort? :)

I wasn't referring to the Swiss wearing Pluderhosen, I was referring to the comment that the Landsknects stopped wearing Pluderhosen toward the end of the period. I think that it's such a wonderful flamboyant outfit that (like the Winged Hussars) if I was making a Landsknecht force of ANY period, they would be wearing Pluderhosen.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.
