In Husky you are already fighting with mixed GB/US core, so you can be given elite units of either nation.milliethedog wrote:Back to Husky, when playing as the British at the start of this game i have been given Elite American units either a P47 or American Rangers as well as British Commando's or Spitfires. i Started Husky several times and got one of these Elite units most times. I do not mind the American units, but i asume that it should be American elite for American Core.

Re: ***** IMPORTANT: Allied Corps beta 3 *****
I've just come across an issue which is present in 1.14 that was reported in the 'tech support' section. This bug is also in 1.20 beta3, so I'll post it here.
In the 'unit details' screen, the 'battle history' is no longer correctly updated for the Axis.
I started a GC'39 campaign, both in 1.14 and 1.20, and noted that in 1.20 beta3, it works properly for the Allies, but again, the Axis just give the date of commission, no further updates.

Hmm cannot repro. I've just made a quick test: started GC'39 and upgraded one of my units; the record about upgrading appeared in the battle history. What records exactly do not appear there?ThvN wrote:In the 'unit details' screen, the 'battle history' is no longer correctly updated for the Axis.

The 'hoisted victory banner' updates seem to have gone missing.Rudankort wrote:Hmm cannot repro. I've just made a quick test: started GC'39 and upgraded one of my units; the record about upgrading appeared in the battle history. What records exactly do not appear there?
Sorry, I should have checked better, you are right, the equipment upgrades are still shown, and I haven't been able to check the medals/heroes.
Re: ***** IMPORTANT: Allied Corps beta 3 *****
Well I'm not even sure GC has cities marked with star in the editor, which trigger this record in battle history. But I've just checked, and it works in PzC vanilla campaign: taking Warsaw in Poland scenario generates "hoisted victory banner" record.ThvN wrote:The 'hoisted victory banner' updates seem to have gone missing.

Aha! That must explain it, sorry for the alarm.
BTW, speaking of the scenario editor, Uran has explained he removed the evacuation hexes from the maps, because some aux units can cause problems in later scenarios when capturing flags (and not triggering victory conditons), and I was thinking:
Maybe a switch can be added to the scenario editor to remove all auxiliary troops from a players' reserve at the end of a scenario or before the next deployment phase? As a bonus, introducing this feature no longer makes it necessary to make aux units unable to be disbanded.
This would make sure older content would remain unchanged (like Kerensky's GC-West intended sell-off of aux Italian units), but the mechanism could prevent aux units 'accidentally' carrying over to future scenarios if this is unwanted by the scenario designer.

Sorry but you only have a mixed Army CORE if you start at Husky, if you have gone through the 1940 Desert route as i did, your core is 100% British. I am happy to use a mix of American equipment going forward, but this needs to be made clearer in the instructions, Further it felt a little strange that there were no German Aircraft present in the first game. In this game i wiped out every German and Italian unit (inc Forts) on the island but no triumph, as ther are no descriptions of what a Triumph here is, it does make it harder to get.
I assume that a unit has crossed the strait or that you have to capture the last port by a certain game turn. i will re try later. Still loving this game !!

This largely depends on your purchasing choices. When US units become available along the route, in Tunisia scenario, number of available core slots is increased. You can fill them with units of any of two available nations you want. The choice is all yours.milliethedog wrote: Sorry but you only have a mixed Army CORE if you start at Husky, if you have gone through the 1940 Desert route as i did, your core is 100% British.
Re: ***** IMPORTANT: Allied Corps beta 3 *****
If you are playing campaign from 1940 or 1941, then the americans join you in Tunisia. At this point US units become available for purchase, and you are notified about this at the beginning of the scenario. In any case, you invade Italy with a mixed GB+US core.milliethedog wrote:Sorry but you only have a mixed Army CORE if you start at Husky, if you have gone through the 1940 Desert route as i did, your core is 100% British. AC beta3: The UI theme does not change correctly. In the Wehrmacht campaign represented the Allied theme.
EDIT: Opps ... I have just seen that this point is already "known" ...

Hello,
I'm playing with rench interface. Problem with new button IDS Button Difficulty and save replay in english the 2 others poursuivre and revoir la carte in french.
No other prb for the moment (reached cauldron 1942). seems a bit easy (compare all other panzer dlc i tried).

The two buttons with english text are new additions in the beta and i guess there is no french translation for it yet. The first scenarios are meant as a tutorial so are quite easy. Cauldron should be the first real challenge for you.guyqui58 wrote:Hello,

First, thanks for allowing me in the beta. Great timing too, got a long weekend coming up.
I installed beta 3 on my laptop and desktop with no issues. I played a few scenarios in the tutorial campaign. It's looking good.
Once I really get into it I will report in the scenario threads.

Re: ***** IMPORTANT: Allied Corps beta 3 *****
Oh ... didn't know there were new tutorials.milliethedog wrote:I have been playing the Desert 1940 Tutorial on (Field marshal), very nice, good challenging games, each getting harder and harder, showing the full depth of the game.
Just walked through tutorials for PC. (After more than a decade away from PG, everything is potentially new to me!)
Will hit those. Seeing with newbies' eyes can be telling.
p.s. on game pc (quad-core OC'd 3.4GHz) nothing even hesitates. on laptop (dual-core 1.8GHz) while running Thunderbird, Chrome, and FireFox (with many dozen tabs) things heh things hesitate somewhat. Kudos for good coding!
Re: ***** IMPORTANT: Allied Corps beta 3 *****
From time to time, units cannot be moved on turn 1, like if they were out of fuel and can't be moved. It's a glitch that occurs only on Turn 1, after setting up all units, so far, only to planes. Selecting another unit and selecting the plane again would fix the issue. This was seen during the Desert tutorial. Do you have a template for bug reports?Rudankort wrote: - Desert 1940 (tutorial)

While I was fighting through the desert the game crashed 2 times when it was my turn. But away from this I love it. Great work up to this!!

Any details on these crashes would be really useful.kylan wrote:While I was fighting through the desert the game crashed 2 times when it was my turn. But away from this I love it. Great work up to this!!

i have been fighting " Normandy" brutal game on the lastest beta, i am still get issues with elite replacements, when at the start of the any game, if you up grade any unit, the elite relacement that you had in that unit are wiped off and are reset back to the starting 10, this a real points killer and seems wrong to me! is this just happening to me?

Re: ***** IMPORTANT: Allied Corps beta 3 *****
Again fighting on Normandy (and earlier games) i have had German units in situations where they would normaly have "surrendered" and the Label "surrendered" flash over them, Have just vanished, since they leave the game i assume that the have suurendered but the label is not showing for some reason.
