If I have to play I will be using a Maratha after 1660.
For the pre-set terrain I have given one table to each type avaliable to all the lists and averaged out the balance.
So there will be;
3 x agricultural,
3 x Hilly
2 x Tropical
1 x Mountains
2 x woodland
1 x steppes
Look forward to seeing you all next Sunday.

WE are the Pratagarh-Deoliya
not you common garden Rajput State
we believe in heroic death defying charges (it says so in all the books, and to be honest what else can you do with Lance armed cavalry)
so expected to be charged and charged at speed and one of us will die (in the following order disrupt, fragment and then break)
looking forward to seeing you all next week
cheers

I picked my army to fight piles of Japanese and there are hardly any. I should have stayed with the Qing.

Thanks guys, have ammended those.
You won't avoid your own club members if you are at the top of the draw.

Interesting Army choices with a clear favourite, a couple of the "more than one" variety but quite a lot of sole picks (8). The make up is
Mughal 8
Japanese 3
Hindu Indian 3
Qing 2
then one each of Hawaiian, Mongol, Mallacca, Aztec, Later Jin, Maratha, Korean and Tibetan
Clearly Indian in all it's flavours is the most popular (but will we see any nellies!), with 3 chinese, 3 sushi eaters and lots of obscure takeaways - seems just like the eatery scene in Brixton!
So what will win - one of the Mughals, a Hindu Indian (ridden by Alasdair) or a quirky choice!!
Here's to a great event!

For what it's worth I'm the sole Farnborough representative. Should be entertaining as Sunday at 9 will be the first time I get to use the army.

Same here with the Hawaiian - I've not been brave enough to put it on the table before!! I think this time, for the first time, I can guarantee that I'll have more BG's than "The Wizard" (aka Dave Allen!).
Don't worry about the Mughals Marc - they're quite a forgiving army with enough Superior Cavalry with a choice of either bows or light lance, to survive most things and in this period and they can always run away! Also there will not be huge amounts of shot to keep causing them the extra -1 on CT's. The challenge is what to do with the light artillery and how to best use the nellies (if they're in your list) plus get the best out of the Heavy artillery.

Yes their are definitely nellies and lots of them in fact more than I would want to see in the whole competition with all my mounted and that's only in the 1 list I have seen
Hopefully will avoid them
Cheers
Alasdair
How about a draw to build up the tension even more and allowing for cunning plans vs the Hawaiian which are then totally scuppered anyway when we draw the tropical terrain
can't wait

Re: Southern League - Clevedon round - Take away - Sun 24 Ma
I have decided against doing a draw, as I would like to get things moving and not have people standing around waiting for people to arrive.
I will sort the players in such a way as to keep club members apart.
I would also like to find a way for the infantry armies to get some favorable terrain in at least one game.

No problem at all
to be fair I don't think you have to worry about the terrain as the tables (woody tropical etc) seem to be infantry friendly, but I actually have infantry this time so don't mind either way
cheers

Don,
Not that it matters much as he'll not be bothered but Gordon Malcolm would be Berkeley along with Keith (and Mike Shepherd) rather than Bristol.
Have a good weekend, too bad I can't be there but as anticipated No 2 son's U13s team made it to the County Cup Semis and as he's in the squad I'd like to go watch.
