Re: Southern League - Clevedon round - Take away
For those who may want to stay the night before, there is a really good deal at the Premier Inn at Portishead BS20 7GA rooms at £46.00 each (can share).
These are pre-paid rooms. Only 15 mins by car from Clevedon.
Hope it helps.

Stop trying to mislead everyone Alasdair!! We all know you'll be taking MIng/Qing cos you've got a shiny new army that you'll want to use again!!!
Mind you so have I
- now guess what that one is?! (it won't win anything tho!).
However, if you do take Thai, we can call you "Ladyboy Harley!"

Pete,
Same as Oxford. Three 2hour 40 minute games, 9am-11.40, 12.00-2.40, 3.00-5.40
It may be worth looking at 2 hour 30 min games and 15 mins between rounds so that we can be finished for 5.00pm. Will consult people at Usk and decide tomorrow.
Bacon and sauages sandwiches will be avaliable on arrival, so no need to stop on the way.
We also plan to take orders for sandwiches during the first game, so that they can be ready for the first break. Cakes are planned for the second break
My daughter is doing the food, as she needs to raise money for her Guide trip to Eastern Europe during the summer.

Re: Southern League - Clevedon round - Take away
Richard,
It is 800 ponts.
Sorry I thought Alisdair's original post had the points in, but having gone back and checked it is not there.
And yes it is 15mm on 6' x 4' tables, with pre-set terrain.
Hopefully I have not missed anything else

Are we using normal setup rules, fixed terrain or what?

Re: Southern League - Clevedon round - Take away - Sun 24 Ma
The "3 Rounds a day" events (of which Clevedon is one), all have pre set terrain. So, no, the normal set up rules are not followed.
However, initiative is till used as usual and the winner either gets to choose to either (1) move and set up first with the opponaants choosing the table side or (2) choose the table sides but the opponant sets up and moves first.
For Oxford, the terrain was based in proportion on the types allowed by the armies allowed and placed randomly on the morning of the event. Each table was then marked with a playing card and before each round, players chose a random card and matched that with the table with the same card so truly random. Interestingly, Tim P and I with 2 cavalry armies fought it out on a cluttered table yet poor Jim G with a foot army had the 3 most open tables for his games!!

Numbers are up to 12 so far.
No idea of which armies that may be used.
