Started work on patching the Elite Units up 1.10.
I've got my notes written down and an outline on what I want to change and what units I want to add...etc.
One really big piece of news:
I've decided to include Bebro's absolutely beautifull aircraft skin collection into Elite Units (thx to Bebro for making them and giving blanket approval for their use).
It will add a little more work re-labeling and adding new efx entries for some units,but in the long run I think the end result will be worth the addtional work.
I will keep posting periodically in this thread on my progress.

Ok here is a rough outline of what I'm doing (actually re-doing......I just deleted my efx file....ARRRGGGGHHHH

Alright now,,now that I've vented here's the outline of what new is being done so far. All of the old stuff will be done also (IE: All Heer units will now have a corresponding Waffen SS and Heer Elite Bonus Unit). The below is what is new
1) Bebro's aircraft skin pack added
2)All Waffen SS prices changed to a flat 10% increase than Heer counterparts.
3) Stug A&B are going to be AT class now(all 3 branches) . They were not Arty units in real life. They were Assault guns that used direct fire to support the Inf. and kill targets. They also just happened to be very good at killing tanks also. The A model is now purchaseable
4) Storch is now buyable and the Fw-189 has been added. Both have the recon move trait.
6) Added Maultier for all three branches
7) Fixed the vanilla SdKz.251 glitch
8.) Switched availability. dates on Panther A & D models (all three branches). The vanilla version had the A coming out b4 the D model.
9)PIIIE now purchaseable (all 3 branches).
10)Fixed vanilla Panzerwerfer 42. It had the .png of the Maultier for some reason. I added the FeldGrau icon from the base icon folder of the Dwight's Camo Spray Shop
11) Figured out and fixed the problem w/ the vanilla SU-122(r) (I hope
). Beings that it was a "captuerd unit" it was listed as "non-purchase". It's AT version was also listed as a "non-purchase",so I think
, the game saw both versions listed as "non purchase" and locked up because it got confused. I made the Arty version buyable and,again, I hope that will finally fix the problem.

I made the Heer SU-122(r) a bonus unit This way ,hopefully, the fix will work,but the player will still not be able to buy it. There is no Heer version,only an SE version. This was done so hopefully
the game does not lock up

I was going thru my notes and forgot another change:
I downgraded the sIG33 and the sIG38 ranges. Both now have a range of 2 (the same as the Sturmpanzer 1). The reason being is that the all three models used the same short barreled 150mm infantry gun and the range was only 5100 yards ,so to give them the same range as the 105mm and 150mm howitzers is silly.
The ranges for the StrumPz.1,siG33,and the siG38 will now be 2 for all three branches

Switched Brummbar to AT (all three branches). This veh was another veh that used a very short barreled (150 mm) gun ,that had no real range to speak of, and was an assualt gun that used direct fire to support the grunts .
Needless to say all of the vehs that have been swithched have had their "family upgrade series" (IE: Stug AT) switched also to allow for cheaper upgrades.
It's too bad that there is not an actual assualt gun class.

I changed something that has always bugged me,so I decided to do something about it.
I upped the Stuh 42's range to 3. The was armed w/a slightly modified 10.5 cm leFH 18,so.... I also dropped the soft attack of the StuH Arty version down to 9,to match the Wespe and the original 10.5cm leFh 18. I left it's direct fire stats alone
I dropped the arty version of the Stug V to one. This veh used the same gun (the L48 version of the long barreled 75mm) so it really shouldn't have any real ranged fire,but I at least gave it the range of one,so at least the veh can used ranged fire offensivly and not get tagged by return fire.
I aslo straightened out the whole vanilla Panzerwerfer 42 debacle so that now it has the proper efx and .png

I need some input relevant to the AT/Assualt Gun switches I've made.
Should I keep the range at zero?..which would allow the unit being attack to inflict looses on the AT/Assualt Gun,or should I put the range at 1,which would not allow the unit being attacked to inflict losses on the AT/Assualt Gun when it attacks.
The reason I ask this is that I'm torn..while the vehs I've switched used direct fire to support the inf they still had a little range (not much,but still 4000-5100 yards),which gave them a little bit of a"stand-off ability" ,so to speak,when engaging enemy units.
Any input is welcome,however they are not going to be dual-role nor are the units (Stug A/B,Brummabar) going to stay as arty.

Maybe you should tweak some more vanilla armour stats as well: the Jagdtiger for example I do not know why they give HA of 21, it should be at least 26 as the Jagdtiger had the most powerful gun of the war.
Also the stats of US/UK tanks/antitanks are really overpowered, maybe it is for balance reasons as in the campaign they do not have heros, but come on the Comet has 25 HA, outclass even Kingtiger! Same story for the US M26; in fact they barely faced the Panthers. Again, US M36, M10 and M18 have too good stats.

The 8,8-cm-PaK 43/3 L/71 with the available ammunition had higher penetrating power than the 12,8-cm-PaK 44 L/55,.This was due to the higher muzzle velocity of the 8,8.
The 12,8 had only superior stats to a 8,8 PAK 43 beyond 1000m and ONLY if used with KE (Kinetic Energy) ammunition or with APCR (Armor Piercing Composite Rigid) projectile but since the 12,8 delivered a huge punch anyway and Tungsten was rare no APCR ammonition was produced for the 12,8cm gun so the Jagdtiger had to use the regular Panzergranate 39/43 APC.

Hey mongo is it possible to do for instance two types of jagdpanthers one with skirts and one without ? and also did you consider the alkett ? I hear ya i wish there was a little more of an AT category the 88mm had many platforms and modifications to fit the AT role, also i wanted to point out the ferdinand version the earlier version of the elefant how come there isnt one in any eqp file anywhere that ive seen but really the only diff between the 2 was elefant had better close in defense capabilities ie MG34's. im glad your redoing this by the way this one of my fav mods

I did some research on the Alkett ,Steam, and from what I can tell there weren't many produced.
From what my armor books are telling me,they were a stop-gap/protoype until the Jagdpanzer IV/70 V came "online",so to speak, and Alkett was the primary producer of the Stugs and they stuck to them . I decided to omit the Alkett,sorry steam. As for the skirts on the Jagds,if somebody makes an icon and mask I could definitely add it in
I know the 88 had alot of versions,but I figure between the FLak/Pak 36 version and the Pak 41/43 version that it was pretty well covered. Remember in this mod the 12.8cm has a dual role also
Your'e right about the Ferdinand/Elefant thing,but then again I figured I'd leave well enough alone so that I can get the mod updated.
I always looked at the PZC units as being whole units (ie: batts/rgts/stdrts) of vehs and that the devs had done a pretty good job (for the most part) at picking the units .
I'm gonna stick w/ just doing the Waffen SS/Heer Elite stuff and adding what little new stuff that I put in (and of course the new stuff the devs added). I always looked at this mod as a mod that would allow the player to purchase Waffen SS units and show that there was also alot of Elite Heer /Luftwaffe units (w/o getting into having to name each Heer/Luftwaffe unit individually).
I also tried to keep from tweaking the stats/ranges (some of the range stuff was just so glaring that I couldn't avoid it). I feel that the devs (for the most part again) did a good job
Just so eveyone knows the Waffen SS are all done. I'm starting on the Heer Elite bonus stuff tonight and hope to haev the Elite Units totally done and released by the weekend. Of course




Steam if you really want the Alkett Jagdpanzer once I get Elite Units updated and released I will add one in for you and send you the new e-file.
I will also be adding some stuff 4key made at a later date to an "expanded/tweaked" Elite Units

Mark made the editing tool (w/o which I'de be screwed )and the totally groundbreaking tool Flak and Rezaf made.
