I have some units with an improved range of sight, you should see that Wurzburg mobile radar  The main advantage for the player is to avoid ambushes and ofcourse to scout ahead, so to get intel of what awaits.
Players shouldn't get all the advantages and should remain challenging. That can be taken care of with a tighter prestige setting and for the eastfront i introduced the "guard" tanks, tankhunters and mechanised artillery.

I found some great images for icons, touched them up a bit and Rezaf kindly made these for the game. I skinned them tonight, but you have the DCS and you can use your imagination as I am including the masks. It will have to come in two posts since only three images are allowed per post. First, I give you......................

THE NACHTJAGER..........................very dangerous at night:
These have wreaked havoc among soviet tank formations at night in the early phase of Operation Frühlingserwachen ("Spring Awakening") (6 – 16 March 1945) in Hungary. The russian tanks got knocked out and never knew what hit them or who was shooting at them

Hi Chris, I am sorry I missed your post about Infantry masks. Yes, there was a package posted on the forum. I have also made some new ones for other infantry icons from DMP, etc. There is a large section of skins just for uniform colors in the skins. If you want these, let me know and I will send you a link with MediaFire.

Did anybody ever realized that he can color BigUnits with this tool too ?
Forget about skinning in camo..doesnt work but when using checkbox "Use color instead of skin"
you can color a british Matilda II or an US M4A1(75)W with Russian green and it looks veeery good...
Of course using a few tricks to get the machine recognizing the icon in the first place apart from resizing before and after skinning and re-sharpening the image.... blablabla..but the result is pretty convincing

Here is a link with good information about the Nightjager Panthers, UHU halftracks and system and the Vampyr night sights on small arms. I am going to work on tweaking the Night fighting Panther and UHU halftrack into some workable and plausible units one way or another.

@Chris10, BEFORE you get finished with your mod, there will be a completely new SdKfz 7 icon with a mask. I sent you a copy of the "mother image" today in private email.

I would like everyone's opinion about two Panther modifications I made with Gimp. Your honest opinion is sought and I know some will like it and some will not. What do you think of the attached Panther images for icons?

I neglected to add to the post that I have not made these icons yet. If they are favorably liked I will make them or get them made, soon. Thanks for all your input. :)

Dwight,

The Panther looks awesome in that shot!!!.

Do you have a "screenie",as Nico would say, to see how it looks in game,as we both know it can look awesome by itself, but then when it goes in the game......

I had sought some opinions on the Panthers with extra track links on the turrets for some icons recently. Kindly some of you gave me a positive response. I am getting more famliar with GIMP now and tinkering around. But I see a number of views but no opinions. So I guess since no one said they look too crappy, I will proceed to make some icons of them. In the meantime I made some truck icons out of existing DMP and vanilla icons. I am not so sure of the bed and track perceptions of the Ford and Magirus Maultiers I made, so I hope some of you will give me opinions on these trucks.

Will be posted in two topics with limit of three per post. Naturally if these icons are satisfactory or meet approval, I will skin them appropriately.
