The question (which truthfully, still isn't completely clarified) was if a cavalry division could have only two units in it.
I agree, I am still not sure of the rule. Terry perhaps you could clarify:

In the absence of any specific instructions otherwise in a particular list, can a cavalry division taken from a ToN army list contain 2 cavalry units and no artillery?

This needs to be in the FAQ at some point.

The answer is in TON, pg 158, right column : A cavalry division may contain any number of cavalry units plus a single horse battery unit .

So even a one unit division is possible

Not really because on the same page it clearly states ALL divisions must contain at least 3 units, no more than 1 may be artillery;

So this official confirmation of a division containing only 2 cavalry units is a (welcome) change of rules;
