Are you ready General?

Expect some resistance

The more british units bound to your paratroopers, are at least not harassing your troops in the south (yet)!

Thanks for the feedback. It didn't occur to me that players would actually start with more than 8 planes.AgentX wrote:Great work nikivdd, as usual. I've started up your GTPG 1 campaign and have only one small criticism to bring up. I'm using the
"handpick"version and the first scenario only allows 8 air slots for deployment. I have 28 total core deployment slots, but only 8 air
slots is too few for me. I like having a core army of roughly 60% ground and 40% air. Maybe you could add another deployment
airfield, so we can deploy a larger air force. Or, maybe remove the 3 AUX air units at the southern airfield (the AUX army is
concentrated in the north anyways). That would make 11 air spots available and a more ideal core army in my opinion (the 3
northern AUX air units could change, if needed, to make up for the loss of the southern ones). I know I can have more than 8 air
units and deploy on the next turn, but that's a hassle and they also lose out on a turn. Just a thought for your consideration.
Nice choice. It was wise to buy some AD too!AgentX wrote:@nikivdd, I apologize for the previous post as it may have been a bit of a "false alarm". Before I even started, I took a quick look
at all the scenarios first to see how they looked and if I saw any immediate problems. Now that I started the campaign, I now realize
that I wouldn't be able to buy my "ideal" core army since the 6400 Prestige didn't go as far as I thought. I was only able to buy 8 air
units anyways and combined it with 17 ground units. I could have gone higher with the planes, but then my ground forces would
have to have been weaker units than I like. So, I'm starting with a 25 core army and will add units during the scenario as I gain
some more Prestige.
Here's the starting core:
5 Gebirgsjager with trucks (I like their 3 movement plus 5 SA value)
5 Pz 38t (decent tank that you can stick with for a while)
5 10.5cm towed artillery with trucks (another decent unit that you stick with a while)
2 8.8cm FlaK 36 AA's with trucks
4 Me 109e fighters
1 Me 110c fighter bomber
2 Ju 87b Stuka dive bombers
1 He 111H2 strat bomber
Let's have a closer look at the goals for achieving a DV in the editor:MartyWard wrote:I just started playing this and finished the first scenrio. I destroyed all the forts well before I took all the objectives but the scenario didn't end until I took all the objectives. I got a DV. Is that the way it is suppose to work?
lolMartyWard wrote:^
I think I just didn't read the victory condition correctly. I thought just taking the forts gave you the DV and taking all the objective gave the MV. I mean they only came up on the screen 16 times so it's understandable I would miss them right?
I did the test of both campaign options. No problems encountered. No GME required normally, everything is stock Panzer Corps.AgentX wrote:@nikivdd, I downloaded GTPG2 and did my same quick overview I did on GTPG1: started the campaign and then used the end scenario
cheat to cycle through the maps. First off, England looks absolutely great and should be an awesome map to play. However, I ran into a
critical problem on two maps that would cause the map area to be black and crash the game (had to alt-ctl-delete to end the game). First
one came up when I took the Malta path (which loaded up properly) and got to Crete. The second came up when I took the Balkans path
and that map would result in the "black screen game crash". I also noticed that neither map would load up in the Editor, as well. Anyways,
I'm still on GTPG1, but I can't wait to get to England and give that map a try. Hopefully, you can get the crash bug worked out.
The paratrooper has to be on the proper hex to get a DV. It's next to the Eben-Emael fortress. (for now it also has a belgian flaggie there)MartyWard wrote:I have a question about the victory condition in scenario 4.
What does the EE partrooper need to do to get a DV? Does it need to end the game on the objective, does it need to be the unit that first captures it or something else?
Yeah, i know. But there are a lot of air auxiliaries to start with. It is also necessary to have AD units. At the end of GTPG1 i had 6 fighters in my core and 2 AD units.MartyWard wrote:You mean besides not having enough to replace the losses from the endless Allied Air Forces?nikivdd wrote:Any problems with prestige sofar ?![]()
This one is proving to be the toughest so far.
