Fair weather started, so we launch our offencive. Destroyed only 3 corps so far, and captured Minsk. Decided to stay safe because forces screen shows 15 soviet mech and 10 armour and I have no idea, where they can be. Don't want surprise counterattack.

Southern wing of the eastern front - some mech and guardsmen approach, but will they actually attack? Soviets have low readiness and our line supposed to hold in any case.

Western landing is here. Can't say it is very impressive. All USA transports supposed to be armour, UK ones - mech mostly, some corps.
Blue cross mark areas where allies can land. By the way I am surprised how many damage low tech allied ASW inflicted to my subs last turn.

Strange things are going on.
Allies landed near Brest and will capture the fortress next turn very likely. I didn't go for counterattack, instead we form defencive line and plan to hold allies on this small patch of ground. Counterattack canceled mostly because luftwaffe is now very busy in USSR. Also there are lots of high tech UK fighters (I have only 4 of my own) and air casualties will be heavy, if I use air here. Instead I keep fighters in USSR and score 4:1 rolls vs soviet fighters.
Our subs keep methodically sinking allied warships.

Here is our offencive in Belorussia. Forgotten to take screen after turn, but basically we destroyed some infantry here and keep advancing.

In the south Morris go for his own offencive (not very effective because of poor troop readiness and air support).

We strike back and restore the frontline, destroying soviet HQ tank and infantry.
Italian tanks were quite effective anti-tank weapon - I got 4:2 roll vs USA armour and 5:1 vs soviet one.

Its going on. In the west allied landing seems localized - allies are bottlenecked near Brest.
Kesselring arrived this turn from reserve to help maintain proper defences.

2 more RN naval units finished off, though we lost 1 german sub flotilla.
Offencive in Belorussia stopped, as soviets retreat from Minsk region. Advance further to Gomel will most likely lead to our troops being flanked and destroyed.

Good part is that many tank, mech and air units are now free, as soviets have no offencive capacity in the area.
On the south soviets keep attacking, but we manage to hold the line, with destruction of 2 more soviet mech units. Traditionally high soviet air casualties.

Finland goes neutral, so now we have only 126 income instead of 132. Still 700+ oil, so free move for any units.
Got 6th level sub tech this turn, sold both naval labs and purchased 2 fighters.

In the west Morris somehow destroyed our SS mech and advanced 1 more step, but we hold ground for now. Another DD sunk by our navy and CV quite damaged.
Allied tech level is impressive - american and soviet tanks and mechs are better then german for 1-2 levels in every tech, western allied air units are also high tech.

Soviets try to be offencive in the south, exposing their armour again. If some evil person will teach Morris proper tactics without advancing tanks in dangerous hexes and suffering so huge air casualties (actually he lost fighter during HIS turn, as I got from casualties screen) he will be truly undefeatable.

Our defence is quite effective - we destroyed 2 tanks, badly damaged 3rd one and burned dozen of air steps.

Soviet offencive continues near Lvov, this time with no air support. Still they had no problems with killing our units and careless advance with best troops.

With use of our bombers (should find somewhere PPs and build more...3 is not enough. But I really can't spare 110 PP with 126 income) we destroyed 2 soviet tanks and 1 guard mech and 1 corps at this area. Now some of our best units are standing in frontline and if Morris *somehow* wipe out all of them we will have little power to strike back.

Northern area, where we advance into void and destroy 2 more soviet corps

West, now axis are on defence, but I fear it will be not very effective with so many allied bombers. Still can't afford counterattack because of extreme high western troops tech level. My mechs are not enough strong to defeat western units decicevely and tanks will be destroyed by TAC bombers instantly, if I deploy them here.

Allies (USSR an USA)have tech advantage in INF and ARM at the beginning of the game so even if Germans focus there as well they are even at best.Schnurri wrote:How are the Allies beating the Axis out in Tech in all these games? Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.
We captured Gomel with little soviet resistance. Soon we will be in Kiev probably.

Here we lost a tank during allied turn (actually how they do it with no air support? Casualties should be higher I believe) but destroyed at least 3 soviet armour and another guard mech. Now all what I can see is 1 armour unit.

In the west we lost infantry during allied turn and destroyed UK and USA mechs, aswell as another DD.

If this position will hold until bad weather probably allies will not breakthrough.

Putting the early labs on infantry/armor instead of general/navy/air seems to be the case here as well.Kragdob wrote:Allies (USSR an USA)have tech advantage in INF and ARM at the beginning of the game so even if Germans focus there as well they are even at best.Schnurri wrote:How are the Allies beating the Axis out in Tech in all these games? Plaid can you give us a rundown of what RN and USN tech levels look like?
