Do you have Panzer Corps installed? It requires you have the full game installed before you install the beta.

It works on Windows 8, but while in-game positioning the mouse on lower left corner opens the "new" Start:

I think this is expected behaviour in windowed mode?

In Options, Window Mode checked gives a border around the window, if positioning the mouse on lower left corner opens the "new" Start.
In Options, Window Mode un-checked, positioning the mouse on lower left corner opens the "new" Start.

Not really a big deal for now. Windows 8 will take some time to be released.

Encountered a very serious bug with the Stalingrad scenario. I was on the 'green' part of the tree so a d/m/l outcome all led down the same path. After capturing all objectives on the 17th turn, the scenario would not end. It just kept going and going ... all the way to the last turn where the entire campaign abruptly ended. Got a message Axis Surrendered or something like that. Removed the beta patch after that.

I don't think you should remove the patch.... but then if you were playing a BETA version of the patch and not the live version, that might have caused your issue.
If you were resuming a campaign you started in 1.00 in the BETA patch version, this too may have caused your issue.

Without more details though, it's hard to pinpoint your problem.

I didn't reconfigure or personally test Stalingrad in 1.01 myself, but from a visual inspection of what was changed to the map, it looks like it should function just fine. If you have more details to share to help diagnose the problem, please make a new thread in the technical support section.

I started the campaign using the beta patch available in this thread. Everything was fine until the Stalingrad scenario. I still have the Ally and Axis turn saved games if you'd like to see them. My email is in my profile.

Revisiting the 3SA of PzI:
Kerensky wrote:We want the PZIs to be more useful, so they have very strong soft attack ratings to reflect their MG armament.
The PzII is more general purpose than the PZ I, so it does everything a little better except for attacking soft targets. So the PZ II is arguably 'better' but it doesn't make the PZ I completely obsolete.
Yep, PzII is overall better than the PzI.
However, in the 39 campaign and for optimal army building/prestige spending, the best alternative is to disband early panzer for the PzIV reaching Low Countries. The PzIV is the one that offers the best incremental upgrade path.
So, in Poland, the player just uses the panzers it has, reaching Norway however and considering the aux PzIV and the lack of hard targets it is better to disband the PzII and keep the PzI's, as these offer a better SA attack.
Reaching Low Countries, those PzI are disbanded for PzIV.
The PzI is now more useful than the PzII in the campaign.
