Thick Forrests
Are thick forrest hexes truly meant to be impassible to ALL units? ( set at -100 movement in that data file) Seems odd that alpine troops can scale high peaks but cant take a stroll thru the Mirkwood. Or I suppose it was a design decision to make impassible hexes...

Ahh, makes sense, never considered the organic transport. makes pure leg formations pretty usefeull(and cheaper)Kerensky wrote:There are four movement types that can enter thick forests.
Foot, Alpine, Horse, Bridging.
The problem is, most of these movement types usually have transports attached to them.
If you have a transport, you can no longer enter terrain that the transport cannot enter.
Thanks guys!
Is it not possible for the unit to abandon its motorized transport and continue on foot? For the life of me I couldn't seem to find that command. Seemed odd that I had to drive my unit around a thick forest for several turns when I would think I could just say, "dismount boys were on foot from here" and cut through the forest, minus motorized.
But by that token, should bridging units be allowed to enter those thick forests? Aren't they hauling lots of bridging equipment around?Kerensky wrote:There are four movement types that can enter thick forests.

Agree - In fact, they should have limited off-road movement as well.Kissaki wrote:But by that token, should bridging units be allowed to enter those thick forests? Aren't they hauling lots of bridging equipment around?Kerensky wrote:There are four movement types that can enter thick forests.
