Pikes come out on top in a classic pikes versus legionnaires encounter --> CheAhn with Seleucids 14/44 defeats 57/53 TheGrayMouser with mid-Romans.
Too many pointy sticks for the Latins to handle, not to mention a couple of elephants, and the scythed chariots, oh and the thorikitai.
Thanks Mouser, I enjoyed that.
Cheers, Kjng Che

The Roman left flank was wiped out in the blink of an eye but were able to hold on long enough to allow me to encricle the center after driving back the lights on the right flank. Tough fight.
Rome (pantherboy) 36/50
Seleucids (Triarius) 51/49
What are the conditions for the next pair of scenarios?
Cheers, Kjng Steve

First leg finished:
hidde (Macedonian Successor) 38/51
CheAhn (Early Achaemenid Persian) 71/55
Some hills on both sides of the battlefield but the Greeks could chose to concentrate their forces on the wide open field.
The Persians spread out and come at the Greeks from all sides. Fighting started when the Macedonian lancers charged a line of Immortals. Success for the lancers.
The Greeks could get ahead but turn by turn the Persians closed the gap. At around 30pts it was almost even.
Then everything on the chaotic battlefield fell in place for the Greeks. The excessive final result was pure luck, though.
The king(s) has fallen. Long live the king(s)!

I have fallen on my sword and offered up the next generation of Che's as well as wives and mistresses as additional sacrifices to atone such a disgracepantherboy wrote:Not luck but stupidity on my brothers behalf me thinkshidde wrote:First leg finished:
