I have one dumb question... after you have created a custom scenario, how do you play it?

Scenario editor comments/questions
I have been experimenting with the scenario editor. I like it very much so far, although it will need some polishing to make it more user friendly.

We will integrate a custom scenario folder where you can just drop in your self-made scenarios and load them in the Scenario menu with a Custom Scenario button.
If you want to test now and for the time being, just replace an existing core one with your own...

Found a possible bug in the scenario editor: all of the fortress/strongpoint hexes, when placed, show up as Axis-side units, even if the strongpoint is selected under an Allied nation.
Also, perhaps for ease of browsing, the units could be sorted into separate folders by nation? Right now it is a pain scrolling through all 400+ units to find one nation's unit.
Finally, I have finished my first custom scenario, a hypothetical German assault on Gibraltar. If anyone is interested in trying it, drop me a line and I'll post a challenge. I appreciate any feedback!

The star designates capitals or other important points.Razz1 wrote:What is the Star for in the Editor?
Black is neutral hex (like Sweden in Norway scen, Switzerland in Germany scen and Turkey in Stalingrad scen). Red border is for "secondary objectives". They are not used at the moment.Razz1 wrote:The Black hex and red border hex?
I checked it, and side was assigned correctly. Did you configure nations on the Edit->Scenario params->Nations tab?dshaw62197 wrote:Found a possible bug in the scenario editor: all of the fortress/strongpoint hexes, when placed, show up as Axis-side units, even if the strongpoint is selected under an Allied nation.
Units can be filtered, just click the Filter button and choose what units you want to see in units panel.dshaw62197 wrote: Also, perhaps for ease of browsing, the units could be sorted into separate folders by nation? Rudankort, thanks for the reply. I realized my error, as you mentioned. Perhaps though it might be a good idea if somehow modders could be warned to set the Axis/Allies sides BEFORE placing units to avoid having all units end up on the Axis side.
Also, I ran into another situation. In a custom scenario I made, I created a major river using the major river tiles. In the dry and mud tilesets, the river shows up fine. When I go to the winter tileset, however, all of the river hexes vanish. Since my scenario is set in winter, this is a problem. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is this a bug?

holding units in reserve
How do I assign and position units for deployment by the player after the game starts? I know about Special Hex icons for marking the hexes where the deploying units will go during game play, but how do I select the units in the editor for use later by the player?

Sounds like just what you need?
Zoom in/out is done via Zoom menu. Anything we can improve there?apanzerfan wrote: -ability to enlarge or zoom out, just to overlook the map.

I personally would like to model PC after Blitzkrieg game.
Give us the ability to add troops on different turns. This way we can model some battles where your reinforcements didn't show up until later.
Even a condition that need to be met in which the reward is extra prestige would be very welcomed.
Example:
Turn 5 Allies still control 5 or less VP's = 1500 prestige
So then the challenge comes in to meet this condition.

rails
When we do hide/show all tiles, the rivers and road "Terrain Features" show up nicely against the black background, but the rails are invisible because that feature is in black also. It would be nice if either the background or the rails indicator were a different color.
North Africa
Are there any plans for editor tiles that are desert scenery for North Africa scenarios?
Re: North Africa
Yes, this is planned but not in the first release.JRW wrote:Are there any plans for editor tiles that are desert scenery for North Africa scenarios?
