We're looking at all kinds of portable platforms, for sure. PSP is a possibility, although it's somewhat older HW (and especially the small amount of RAM verses the current game on the PC) makes it one of the more challenging.

But watch this space!

Try and see whether you can play BA (with shadows off perhaps) on your netbook It's been designed specifically to work on pretty much anything :)

I have been playing on my netbook since BA came out with no problems (it is a small screen but in a pinch..) It actually works far better on the netbook with Windows XP then on my Laptop with Vista. they both have the same Intel graphics.

My game only runs well when zoomed in, even with shadows turned of on my netbook.

It's not going to be quick and slick on a netbook, depending on the spec - early ones had very VERY slow processors and gfx chipsets.

It's possible that you might get better performance in top down mode, but we'd need to profile the game on a variety of netbooks to find the bottlenecks.

I guess we could add an option to turn off 'decorative' ground elements etc. I will add it to the wishlist.

Cheers

I've got it running OK with no shadows setting on a Sammy NC10 with 2GB RAM.

Would look forward to a port on to the PSP :D

Saw in Wargamer.com that an iPad version had been planned for BA before the "Battlefield" title became an issue. Now that's settled, what are the plans for an iPad version?

Well, I spent most of Wednesday fighting with XCode telling me about its "broken pipe" (when it meant that there was a problem with compiling some inline assembly - so obvious really). Hopefully that tells you something about what I am doing ;).

In theory it will also be good for our netbook friends, as the iPad work includes a lot of general optimisation which should make the PC version less processor hungry too :).

No dates on release yet though - we want to make it as good as it can be on the iPad.

Cheers
