Round 2 Maximus Turnus (Romans) vs Archie (Lowlanders)
Draw: Roman losses 4121 including sub General (33/31) Gallic losses 4262 (36/36)
From a seemingly comfortable Roman win turned into a desperate scramble to avoid a deserved Gallic victory after a great recovery by Archie. Lucky to get the draw in the end.
(Can't recall if sub-general loss loses points)

Gaius Poodiclese is proud to announce that he will be heading up a victory parade in Rome one of these days to celebrate his victory over the former bubblette lover Blathergut. We also were successful in taking the head of his Spanish ally general, alas our war correspondents were on the other side of the battle field.
final score Rome: 19/33 2348
Gaul- 48/48 4262
A well fought battle where our wait for the hairies tactic worked out the way we wanted. Also glad to report that both Roman generals are still as tall as they were when they started the battle.

Normal ally generals don't matter if they die. It's only in round 3 and later, if another player agrees to send ally troops, and THAT general dies (or you, as the CinC).

So, for Round Three:
1. Each player may send "himself" as an ally general (receiving player's choice as to which type if there is a choice [i.e., if sent to a Gaul, could be highland/lowland/iberian/german]) to one other player. This will be decided after choice order for round 3 combats is known. These do not need to be announced but may be decided in secret between players. I leave it up to you how you work "I'll send him only if you fight ___!" but your buddy fights someone else...ahem...or you! Consider the ally then a treacherous brother or something!
All decisions must be made before Round 3 games begin. We'll use a simple "I'm ready to play!" posting here from each player and when we have all 8, off we go. Only one "player ally" may be used in a game. You may have other "game ally" generals.
Once a game begins, players must post here any ally general they are using.
2. This ally general brings 75pts along with him, to be used at the receiving player's discretion [i.e., not all 75 need go to the ally gen.'s troops...or more could]. (Had thought of just 50pts, but by the time you buy a general (20) it only allows maybe 4 or 5 BGs...so let's see how 75 works.)
3. All round 3 games are set at 600 but players only use up to their points available. This will make the maps a bit more interesting for the smaller forces perhaps. [So poor little me, if someone sent me help, could use 475 worth of troops.]
4. If your buddy wins his game, he gains 50pts and you gain 50pts. If he loses, he loses 50pts and you lose 50pts. If a CinC dies in a game, the player loses an additional 50pts (
) and if your "sent" ally general dies in your buddy's game, you lose 50pts.

After a long and bloody battle, Chief Getahorse and his highland boys have routed the lowlife forces under Deeter Mendix, the Gallic One, although we must admit the loss of our baggage to the low life tribe.
Getahorse 38/43 (4025)
Deeter Mendix 49/46 (5166)

OKAY! How about we give everyone until Friday to decide/cajoal/beg for allies. Can the would-be Caesars at the top of the heap be stopped? Remember, nothing says you have to fight who you agreed to fight!
Us poor chiefies at the bottom could use the help. And we have an ally general all ready to join your cause too!

OK let me get this straight
*players in the same manner as before will issue challenges to players above them.
*once all the games are set , players will wheel and deal to send themsleves as allies to another player(s)
*then the battles start
we will use a 600 ap army BUT only purchase what we have , so for example if TGM was fighting Blathergut 500 ap's purchased vs 250 ???
however if Deeter Mendix sent an "ally" to Balthergut it would be 500 vs 300???
BTW did you pose for those sculptures , you handsome dog you

Choice is not quite like that. Firtst choice decides out of all opponents who he'd like to fight. Then, if 2nd choice wasn't picked as 1st's opponent, 2nd gets to choose an opponent...etc.
*once all the games are set , players will wheel and deal to send themsleves as allies to another player(s)
No. I tweaked that slightly. Now that we know the choice order, we wheel and deal. That way, you know who gets the first couple choices so you might go to them and say, here's an ally, go choose *** and beat on him with my blessing. Hopefully your buddy follows through! THEN we'll make choices of opponents.

No. The VP points are just for VP. So Blathergut fights with 400. Your army can never be smaller than that. Also, you don't deduct anything from your army if you send an ally. It's extra and "free." But you risk the VP loss and who ain't gonna have that ally general fighting up front!!??!!BTW did you pose for those sculptures , you handsome dog you
