Charge Movement
Do troops move double in a charge, then use Variable movement dice?

You use the normal move distance. You only VMD if all targets evade in which case it is indeed possible to charge a short distance.

My experience is the opposite. I find the initial movement a little slower than Fog AM due to the shorter move distances and lower manoeuvrability, but once the lines get close things happen much quicker, largely due to less delay by skirmishers and the more deadly shooting. However things seem slow once you get close to the enemy.

I have never played FOG A/M. I was relating to other rule sets.
