GS/Windows on Mac
Does anyone have experience with this they can share? I'm considering moving up.
Re: GS/Windows on Mac
GS works perfectly with bootcamp (Windows Xp) on my MacBook.dagtwo wrote:Does anyone have experience with this they can share? I'm considering moving up.

Christmas in March! Woo-hoo!pk867 wrote:Hi,
We are in final stages PC and Mac of playtest to squash bugs and tweak balance issues. The goal is a simultaneous release of Mac and PC versions.
This means that Mac and PC players can play against each other PBEM CEAW-GS 2.0 .
We are shooting for a March timeframe.

The point is that we need to get the game to end to collect victory level and if we want to complete all games in February for a March release it means you need to make 2-3 turns a day to complete a game in time. Some turns are quick to make since little is happening, but later there is some action going on so turns might take 10-15 minutes to do.
Usually it's easier to play faster if you find an opponent in the same time zone as yourself.

While I'm excited at the idea of beta-testing, it would probably skew your statistics anyway. I'm at the absolute beginning of learning vanilla CEAW (1.06) with four games under my belt. So unless there is a similarly experience-challenged player in or near the Pacific Time Zone it probably wouldn't be as useful to the developers.Stauffenberg wrote:The point is that we need to get the game to end to collect victory level and if we want to complete all games in February for a March release it means you need to make 2-3 turns a day to complete a game in time.
