SetTeamAggression question

Post by DaveyJJ »

In the Slith template files, the aggr value in the SetTeamAggression (side, team, aggression) values don't make sense to me.

64 = defend, 48 = seek and destroy, 32 move towards a VP killing along way.

Are those the only values we can use? Or is there a range from 0-64 or something, and if so, what are the values indicative of?

Thanks!

They are bitfields, meaning you can combine (add) the values together to get more complex behaviours.

This thread details them all and talks about it a little more.

Thanks, Pip! I did a search on "SetTeamAggression" yet that one didn't come up. Now to fire up BootCamp and get playing.

Pip,

Is there a way (in the editor) to remove the AI points?

At the moment I'm editting the BAM file to remove points after I place them... ie, changing the P# to read 0 0 0.

thanks

Why would you need to remove them? They'll only be used if you tell the AI to do so? Or is it just for tidiness?

I need to remove them (for tidiness, yes) when I use a premade BAM ... ie, I'm using a modified Allied Skirmish BAM for my sniper scenario.
Ensures that I start fresh because I'm experimenting with random team destinations and I don't want "fixed" points.

Thanks for the quick reply!! :)

Great!

While we're on the subject ... Is there a "fixed" toggle on your task list?

Again, I found myself having to manually edit the [units] under UNITFIX to read false ....ie, UNITFIX_0_0 FALSE
if I want them to be purchaced.

Sorry (in advance) if I missed that button in the docs.

You can toggle the fixedness of units by pressing the F key while over them?

I finally figured out that the editor AI window aggressiveness settings go above 9.

Open the window
Set your teams by clicking the arrows for a side and team number
Put your pointer over the unit(s) and click to set the team
Set the aggressiveness with the numbers above
Click AI point and click a square to place point on map
Set target to a point number

Edit to add

To quickly change the agg number, hold the shift key, then click the arrow. The number will change by 10s.
