The truck and infantry appears on the sam place where they were standing at the beginning of the game like I never moved them!
I did have a similar issue recently in the Normandy-MP scenario. I loaded units into my trucks, and moved up to unload them. I find out later that despite all my trucks are moved, the units are still at their starting position. I had assumed it was just my stupidity, (perhaps too tired) and I managed to almost screw up every single loading unit.
I will definitely keep a closer watch on this just in case.
Pip, is it possible to give us a quick-list of changes/enhancements so we know what bugs or other surprises are supposed to be fixed, and what is getting slipped through the cracks?
For now, the main online problem that still isn't fixed, is the allies control the Me262 in the Winter_village scenario. Also, any scenario with a P47 causes the red debug-window to pop up due to some complication. Also you should check out the Desert Fort scenario for on-line play, we've never got past the first round in that one, not sure what's going on there.
To recap a few other issues, the M8 howitzers are missing their bombard commands, which makes them almost useless. Forcing units to surrender, etc. doesn't seem to give experience. Also, killing units through bombardments doesn't add experience to the bombarding unit (is that by design?).
The problem is sorting through the things that have been seen by you guys, verses the many many (many) other bugs and tweaks which get done every day. Simply dropping out the list of changes would be a huge list that nobody would read .
I will take a look tomorrow at the MP stuff you mention - it hasn't had a huge amount of love this version as we have been doing a lot of internal balance work, but we do want MP to be something you guys can have sensible games testing out.
I'll go through the other items you mention to see whether they have been (or need to be) fixed.
Oh, one more issue with the online Normandy "MP1" scenario. There are 3 flags, but capturing them all does not trigger a win for some reason. I'm pretty sure from the layout that this was supposed to be a secondary win objective, so it is unfortunate that scripting doesn't work at the moment.
I'm curious, who designed that scenario? There are a few other questions I have, and some change suggestions.
We have multiple Winter Village scenarios going, so it's hard to keep track of what was killed and what. Particularly since the game lacks a Dossier screen like the old PG games. It is possible you may have cross-confused one map from another? This happens to me a lot since I have around 10 games going on at once. I often wish there was a seperate screen I could type in a diary/journal to myself of combat notes to open up and re-read the next time I continue that scenario.
HOWEVER, I did FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY get to play a Normandy scenario as AXIS. Finally someone (Strebe) decided to let me do axis for once. Perhaps it was a misclick on his part, I don't know, but 99.9% of the time players prefer to play axis for SOME REASON! Not that I think it's unbalanced, I guess people tire of always playing allies during the campaigns.
In any case!!! I can clearly see the problem that Pomakli was talking about. I also moved all my infantry, and now at the start of my second Axis turn, most my infantry are still showing up in their starting locations, despite the trucks have moved. Hmmmm!
And to be honest, I've been noticing this problem sporadically in the same scenario on the allied side as well. Again, hmmmm!
This is now happening with different players, and even different sides. I wonder what's going on here. Any ideas pip on where in the code this problem could be? I think this should be one of the highest bug priorities at the moment, though I hope it isn't too hard to hunt down.
In fact, if this is the only bug that gets stomped this weekend, i'd say that's good progress. I wish I could tell you if this one was also present in 0.6 of the beta, but like I said, I hardly EVER get to play Axis, so I'm not sure. But I am getting pretty sure now a lot of times I made these silly mistakes with loading my American units, they weren't just mistakes on my part.
It is POSSIBLE this same problem exists in the Winter Village scenario, but if it does, it hasn't been noticed after all this time. Perhaps because there are fewer units to move around. Or maybe this bug really is just localized around the Normandy Scenario?
Re: Loading of infantry in Normandy scenario. I thought I had made a mistake, I was sure I had loaded up my grunts but when it was my turn they were all unloaded.
m5 has a distance of 3 tiles (inkl. target) to light fortifications (where a 88 waits for him!) but M5 is not able to see it!! Due to excel cahrt has M5 a LOS of 5 tiles!
