Dice Graphic
I know you programmers are very busy doing important stuff to the game, but it would be really really nice if someone could write a silly little program that shows a couple of dice rolling on the screen and landing on the numbers I got on my combat roll. I need to see how unlucky I am when I lose, and that it wasn't at all bad generalship!!

If the 'dice display' could be toggled on/off in the preferences and have a 'message delay' in seconds, each user could set it for their own tastes. I think it would help many people (me included) who haven't played the TT and don't always see how the % chance equates into casualties.

Don't forget the pint of beer graphic in the bottom right hand corner.TheGrayMouser wrote:I think he means actual graphics of dice rolling, perhaps a big hand coming down and swiping your foes battle groups off the map!deeter wrote:You can see that in the little black panel if you can read that fast.

That black panel is too small, too fast, and too confusing. I can see in my mind's eye a couple of animated dice rolling onto the battlefield.
You are right about that black panel. Zip and it's gone!!! My eyes don't get a chance to digest the info..ianiow wrote:Don't forget the pint of beer graphic in the bottom right hand corner.TheGrayMouser wrote:I think he means actual graphics of dice rolling, perhaps a big hand coming down and swiping your foes battle groups off the map!deeter wrote:You can see that in the little black panel if you can read that fast.

I can't say I fancy the dice graphic, so if the puppydog eyes work then I hope it will be made optional
I mean, imagine the chaos if the dice knock over the units!
However, what would be really good is to give a pause button so that you can actually read the log between attacks (particularly in replay mode) and/or make the log scrollable.
Better still, allow it to be kept between games! It can be overwritten each time so hopefully not a big space hog, and if the player wants to keep it then they merely copy the file between games.

For more realism yet, you could add a graphic (that appears at random, but never more than once per game) of the rulebook occasionally crashing onto the map and sending all your units all over the place ...Morbio wrote: ... I mean, imagine the chaos if the dice knock over the units!![]()
... and maybe a graphic showing one of your dice falling off the table and you having to re-roll them all (this one could be programmed to occur only if you'd rolled all sixes!)
... or a big hand appearing with a tube of glue to stick the spear back onto one of your heavy infantry units ...
On second thoughts, maybe not
