Cannot 'Take Back' Last Move
With the new patch 1.1.2, the take back a move button seems broken. I know it doesn't (and shouldn't) work after a combat, but I quite often mis-move because I'm a bit ham fisted with my mouse-pad. So it's a feature I found most useful.
Playing as:
Danish - Won 1, Lost 2
Lancastrians - Won 3, Lost 3
Milanese - Lost 1
Scots Isles and Highlands - Lost 1
Swiss - Won 25, Lost 3
Danish - Won 1, Lost 2
Lancastrians - Won 3, Lost 3
Milanese - Lost 1
Scots Isles and Highlands - Lost 1
Swiss - Won 25, Lost 3
Yes... that makes a difference I suppose. Hmm. Tough call. I like LoS a lot. But given that I make at least one mis-move every other turn... I shall have to ponder.

I can see the reasoning. If you allow take back with LoS, people can cheat, taking back moves after 'peeking' over terrain. It's just a bit annoying when I move a unit 2 hexes instead of three by accident (or vice versa) and am then stuck with it. Oh well.

In fairness I may have been thinking of the use of FOW and take back at strategic level rather than in tactical battles.
I can see the dilemma in allowing both.

How do you turn it on and off...

The only problem with that is very clever players could discover a workaround to discover units by "non discovery"Paisley wrote:Maybe take back could be disabled for any unit that discovers new enemy, much like it is disabled for any unit that enters combat.
Example: as I undertsand it if you move and would have become adjacent to an unspotted enemy your move halts period.
However what if you took a unit with a long range ie light cavalry, you could move a unit say North its maximum range, the program doesnt halt your unit because no enemy troops are there, now you KNOW there are no enemy troops there so you take back your move and the progam lets you as it hasnt exposed non spotted units and since you havent taken your "hand" of your piece, next you do the same thing south east west etc.

k...starting to get it...you see like before, except...is shadowed out behind hills and in forests, etc...
Here's my question:
Is there any way to know which of your own units can't be seen by enemy???
I see when starting a game you can choose FOG of war or not. Is this the same as activating LOS?
(Wishes now he could edit out that question from history!

Thats part of the fog of war, you never know which of your guys is being spied on
Actually you do bring up a good point, I play an old dos based remake , Steel Panthers where there was an * placed next to any of your units names if they were being spotted, however I think the MPplayer community eventually convinced the designer to remove this as they felt it was too "gamey", Keep in mind this was squad level WW2 game and the premise might be different for if you feel spotted units should 'Know it" in a ancient tactical game...

Battle for Wesnoth, a turn based top-down game, programmed the fog of war so that you could take back moves SO LONG AS the unit did not reveal anything obscured by fog. Furthermore, there was an option to not update the fog until you click a button or move a different unit, so that you could always take back your turn (unless you were ambushed).
Those options would be much appreciated here.

I guess that if the FOW state doesn't change because of a move, then it would make sense to allow the move to be taken back, as you haven't gained any information.grumblefish wrote:Battle for Wesnoth, a turn based top-down game, programmed the fog of war so that you could take back moves SO LONG AS the unit did not reveal anything obscured by fog.
