Elephant proof mounted
We recently played a game with Ghaznavids vs mamelukes and we had some questions on "elephant proff" horses. I was unable to find where any list had them, is this a planned part of the rules or do some lists cover it?
Elephant proof mounted
In Warrior, 7th ED WRG and others, some countries/armies had elephant proof horses, i.e they were trained to either work with or fight against them, Classical Indians come readily to mind. Some countries/armies had the same for camel proofing their forces. I did not see that, though I have to admit that I have not read every list.
My question stems from "NOT FINDING" anything when looking at the Ghaznavid list and others since they have elephants as a troop type along with mounted. Are there any "elephant proof' mounted forces?

There is no need for "elephant proofing" of friendly mounted. Provided that their battle group does not have elephants on both sides of it, only 2 bases will be in range of the elephants to be disordered. This is less than 3 so no combat dice are lost.
We were rather pleased with this simple way of making elephants have more effect on enemies than on friends, as it saved a whole lot of possibly controversial list exceptions, extra points costs or demands for "freebies" to be paid for etc etc.

One of the strange effects of the CMT -1 is that shock cavalry next to friendly elephants or camels are more likely to charge without orders - sort of odd, maybe they will do anything to get away from those smelly beasts. Mainly affects Hellenistic armies, Rajputs and maybe some Arabs (for lancers & camels).

All your previous posts get updated to the current post number, so if you look at two of your consecutive posts it looks as if the number hasn't changed, but it has. Spooky, eh?peterrjohnston wrote:So does mine... pretty sure it was stuck on the same for days... someone asked me about it too. How odd.
