If you play Nigel Philips and Neil Sydney-Smith ask the latter to show you the boxes he keeps his figures in - I bet nobody can guess what they used to contain!!
No entries from Derby allowed!!

In 2 of the games less than 10% of the army were mounted. We dismounted most/all to save running after all that girly LH rubbish.

Incidentally, our army failed on a number of levels. Namely:

- It was far too small. Only 12 BG's is a recipe for certain disaster.
- It was full of Undrilled foot
- We had no IC
- We had no Light Horse

Here is what we went for:

4 x TC
5x6 HF, Armoured, Undrilled, Superior, Offensive Spear
4x4 Kn, Armoured, Undrilled, Superior, Lancer, Swordsmen *
2x6 LF, Unprotected, Average, Bow
1x10 Mob, Poor

Clearly destined for failure :)

* can dismount as more offensive spear

Still tedious and one dimensional though, so not that unlike your light horse rubbish ? *

(insert comment about similarities to the general as desired)

Never let it be said that Tim isn't the voice of reason...

If I use Light Horse he complains
If I use Heavy Foot he complains

Presumably you would whine on if I used the Dom Rom swarm...

Perhaps it would be acceptable to use an army where every BG was a different type? Does such an army exist?

Well depending on how you want to define "a different type" I suspect the SHNC could do a list with no 2 BGs the same :D

Tim would still whinge of course

I was thinking more along the lines of

LF, MF, HF, LH, Cv, Kn, Cat, Cm

IC, FC, TC

There's a challenge in there for somebody with too much time on their hands....
