Downloading game again?
Hi guys
I've been having problems with my PC and have just re-installed Windows XP etc.
When I try and load the game it says I should re-install it as it is corrupted.
What do I need to do to get it downloaded again as I will need to re-install Microsoft Office and am unsure whether I will have lost my e-mail from you.
Cheers
Rob

No definitely not - at worst you have to pay for extended download service. You have already bought the game so all you want is to download it again. I've been asking Digital River to increase the time they offer the download for but so far they have not changed it as it gives them much more revenue than selling games (we receive the bulk of the mony on a game sale). We really recommend burning a backup CD when you get the game to avoid having to pay for another download later.

Hi Iain
I had a response from the customer service department but it appeared very much like those you receive from companies who have moved their help offshore.
Basically because I am out of the 30 days I would need to buy the product again as well as the extended download option.
I have enjoyed the game but am not prepared to pay the full price again as it differs a lot from the tabletop version and I do get to play that a lot both on a friendly basis and on a competitive basis.
Thanks for your help.

Just as a sanity check, have you searched on your system to see if the original downloaded installer is still three? If you downloaded it and ran it (rather than just runnning it directly), it probably should be and it might still be around if you just opened and ran it. Certainly worth a little searcing around. If it is, the installer would probably be fine even if the installed version had problems. The name of the installer from Slitherine is Field_Of_Glory_1.0.exe. Not sure if Matrix uses the same or not.

Assuming it was the game installation folder under "Program Files" that you had to delete, the installer usually downloads to another location than where the game installs to. By default, Firefox downloads to your desktop, for instance. Just a thought but Iain is probably your best bet.Robert241167 wrote:Chris - I had to delete the whole folder and empty my trash bin before attempting to re-install it.
Iain - I will send you the details but it may be tomorrow as my Catalans have a tabletop battle straight from work tonight and I won't be home until very late.
