Division B

Ironclad Germanic Foot Tribes 260-599 AD with Roman allies defeated Bagatrix1805 100-970 AD with Blemmye allies, 48-17

The Germans advanced with a powerful Roman infantry detachment on the left, mainly warbands in the centre and the cavalry light and heavy including horse archers on the right. The sole engine when within range fired at the two enemy elephants but failed to disrupt them. In close combat the Roman wing made good progress against the enemy right flank which was matched by the success of the superior warbands spearheading the central attack although the enemy elephants counter-attacked with the support of their own warbands and superior units. Meanwhile the enemy cavalry and reserve warbands pushed back the German mounted units and exploited this success.

The climax of the battle saw the the Romans crushing the enemy right and assisting the German warbands in their defeat of the opposing centre. Thanks Bagatrix for a good battle.

Stones1985 (Axumite/Blemmye) defeated edb1815 (Roman/Hun) by a score of 51 to 23. A much closer game than the score reflects. Both sides had some weaknesses in their lines and the Roman ones gave out first.

Good shooting rolls and large number of forces allowed the arab to defeat stronger but less manoeuverable warbands on a hilly terrain. A final lucky cavalry charge allowed me to get a score way above expectation.

The Ostrogothic warbands bravely went up against the subpar Legions, but Aetius himself must have been there to hold them up, as the impact was blunted and slowly but surely the Byzantines broke through the warband army and finally hit the softer sub-Roman foot and archers. GG!

There was two period in this battle, a first period when Arab defeated Most of Persian center and right wing while persian destroyed symetrical Arab rightwing.
Then a long period when Persian, although their best units had been defeated, managed to inflict a lot of casualties with their light troops and the remnant of their armies to the Arab Force who were dominant but scattered.

GG - Well played by Morat

Fortunes in the battle swayed one way then the other. The Ostrogothic cavalry wing got the better of the Romans but the Roman infantry backed by cataphracts defeated the warbands.

The Byzantines got off to a bad start with some mistakes and great pressure applied on their left side by the Axumites, but the Byzantine cavalry did well on the right; it was a race to which side collapsed, and both kind of did. Ultimately with a bit of luck the Byzantines squeezed by just enough for the rout. Well played by my opponent who could have easily been the one who won this. GG!

Roman were organized with a left side of infantry and a right side of all sort of cavalry.
As roman came forward to engage the line of Arab infantry, Arab cavalry could outnumber them and got flanking opportunities
