Re: Panzer Corps Equipment Viewer v1.2.1 (10/07/26)
Now that’s something I wasn’t expecting!
This is going to be a really useful tool when setting up scenarios. Until now, whenever I wanted to compare several units, I’d create a scenario featuring the factions I was interested in, then open the purchase screen to compare their stats. It was either that or checking the equipment file line by line. Either way, it was pretty tedious.
I’ve already installed it and I really appreciate it
Thanks a lot!
I’m currently testing it with the Modern Conflicts mod :

Everything works fine, with one exception:
Since the factions have been reworked, I have a long list of "unknown" factions. Is there any way for the program to check the faction names?
Example :

Norway is "Unknow" (34)
That said, it's nothing serious. I just have to experiment until I find the faction that interests me. Once that's done, I haven't run into any other issues.
PS : In a funny note, the bigunit pictures from real world used in Akkula's mod make the program look like a genuine weapons database

Panzer Corps Equipment Viewer – Quick Guide
The Panzer Corps Equipment Viewer is a read-only tool for browsing the units contained in the Panzer Corps equipment.pzeqp file. It allows players to search units, filter them by nation and class, check availability dates, view full statistics, and display the corresponding BigUnit image and national flag.
Installation
Unzip and Run:
PanzerCorpsEquipmentViewer_Setup_x64.exe
Follow the installer steps. The program installs like a normal Windows application and can create shortcuts in the Start Menu and on the Desktop.
The viewer is designed for 64-bit Windows and does not require players to install .NET, Inno Setup, Visual Studio, or any other development software.
Location Confirmation Screen
When the viewer is launched for the first time, and once after each program update, it asks for the required Panzer Corps file and folder locations.
The previous locations are remembered and automatically filled in after an update.
You must select:
equipment.pzeqp
Select the main Panzer Corps equipment file used by your installation.
BigUnits folderExample:
...\Data\equipment.pzeqp
Select the folder containing the large unit pictures.
The program loads the BigUnit image using the exact PNG filename listed in the equipment file. If there is no BigUnit image, it will show "missing" in the stats section.Example:
...\UI\BigUnits
Flags folder
Select the folder containing the national flag icons.
After checking the locations, click:Example:
...\UI\flags
Confirm and Continue
The same locations are used on later launches unless they are changed manually.
Main Viewer
The main window is divided into two areas.
The left side contains the search and filtering tools together with the unit list.
The right side displays the selected unit, its national flag, BigUnit picture, full name, and equipment statistics.
File Menu
The File menu allows you to change the paths used by the viewer and reload the equipment database.
Typical options include:
This is useful for modders and players using an updated equipment file.Change equipment.pzeqp location
Change BigUnits folder location
Change Flags folder location
Reload equipment file
Exit
Reload Equipment File
After replacing or editing equipment.pzeqp, select:
File → Reload equipment file
The viewer reloads the latest equipment data without needing to be restarted.
The viewer is completely read-only and never modifies the equipment file.
Search Bar
The search bar searches only the unit's:
Short Name
Full Name
The search is not case-sensitive.
The search does not use the PNG filename, traits, statistics, theatre, series, or transport information. For example, searching:
I-16
may find:
I-16 Typ 5
I-16 Typ 10
I-16 Typ 18
I-16 Typ 24
Searching:
Polikarpov
can find units whose full name contains Polikarpov.
Nation Filter
The Nation filter shows units belonging to a selected country.
Selecting:For example:
Germany
United Kingdom
United States
Soviet Union
France
Italy
Poland
Belgium
Netherlands
Romania
Hungary
Finland
Japan
All nations
shows units from every nation.
When a unit is selected, its national flag is displayed beside the unit information.
Class Filter
The Class filter allows units to be displayed by equipment type.
Available classes include:
Infantry
Tank
Recon
Anti-Tank
Artillery
Anti-Air
Structure
Fighter
Bomber
Level Bomber
Submarine
Destroyer
Cruiser/Battleship
Aircraft Carrier
Ground Transport
Air Transport

Rail Transport
Armored Train
Filters can also be combined with the search bar and date filter. For example:
Nation: Romania
Class: Tank
shows only Romanian tank units.
Available on Date
The viewer can show only units that are available on a selected date.
Enable:
Available on date
and select the required date.
Dates are handled in the equipment file format:
DD.MM.YYYY
The viewer checks both:Example:
03.08.1941
Available From
Available Till
and displays only units available on that date.
This is particularly useful for campaign and scenario design.
shows Soviet fighters available according to the equipment file on that date. For example:
Nation: Soviet Union
Class: Fighter
Date: 03.08.1941
Malformed date entries are shown as invalid rather than being guessed.
Show Reserved Entries
Some equipment IDs are reserved placeholders rather than normal playable units.
These are hidden by default.
Enable:
Show reserved entries
to display them in the unit list.
Most players will normally leave this option disabled.
Unit List
The unit list shows all equipment records matching the active filters.
Each entry displays the short unit name and its equipment ID.
Click a unit to display its full information on the right side of the viewer.Example:
I-16 Typ 5 [1223]
Unit Information
The right side of the viewer displays the selected unit's BigUnit picture and detailed statistics.
The exact values are read directly from the selected equipment.pzeqp file.Information can include:

Theatre
Usable Transports
Transport Category
BigUnit Picture
The large unit picture is loaded from the selected BigUnits folder.
The viewer uses the exact image filename stored in the equipment file.
The image is displayed while preserving its original proportions and transparency. For example:
Polikarpov_I-16.png
is loaded as:
BigUnits\Polikarpov_I-16.png
Read-Only Operation
The Panzer Corps Equipment Viewer is a read-only application (for now).
It can:
Read
Search
Filter
Display
Reload
It cannot:
Edit
Delete
Overwrite
Save changes to equipment.pzeqp
The program does not ask for, collect, or require any personal information. It only asks for the local locations of the Panzer Corps files and folders needed to display equipment data and graphics.

Re: Panzer Corps Equipment Viewer v1.2.1 (10/07/26)
The program has been updated for Imeror.
v1.3.2: https://www.mediafire.com/file/pn6y4faz ... 2.rar/file
.
Changes:
The version number is now visible in the bottom right corner of the viewer.
Starting with version 1.3.2 (release), the Panzer Corps Equipment Viewer uses an editable nations.json file stored in the program installation folder.
This file contains the link between each nation ID in the equipment file and the country name shown in the viewer. It can be edited with a normal text editor such as Notepad or Notepad++.
Flag image number = Nation ID + 1
So Nation ID 34 uses:
35.png
After editing and saving nations.json, use:
File → Reload nation names
to apply the changes without restarting the program.
Change to the Nation dropdown (File menu)
Starting with version 1.3.2, the Nation dropdown now shows the complete list of countries defined in nations.json.
Previously, the dropdown only showed nations that were already used by units in equipment.pzeqp.
This means that newly added countries now appear immediately after reloading the nation list, even if they do not yet have any units assigned to them.
Selecting a nation with no matching units will simply show:
Showing 0 records
This makes it easier to prepare new countries in advance and expand the equipment database later.
The nations.json file also has simple instruction how to add nations to the list.

Great, thanks for this excellent tool.
Would it be possible to include the "Units" image in addition to the "Bigunits" one?
I’m attaching a screenshot showing what you could do, provided it doesn't involve too much work.
Best regards,
Yves

Tremendous. I'm not a modder but this can help playtesting and even basic campaign strategy.

I’ve always liked real photos of military vehicles because they help you understand, without having to use your imagination, what a particular unit actually looked like!

There are plenty of photographs like this of aircraft from the Second World War. But in reality, these aircraft did not look quite so grey and gloomy.
In fact, this is a glamorous, pale pink fighter from the Second World War. And that’s no coincidence.
Some fighter planes during the Second World War were so specialised that they only flew at certain times of day. The beautiful pink RAF aircraft of the US 16th Squadron had a major advantage — they became virtually invisible at both sunset and sunrise.
And these ‘glamorous’ fighters do look rather fun. In fact, it was a truly clever tactic — to create ‘invisible’ aircraft even back then.

What’s more, turning an old photo into a colour one isn’t a problem ) The only problem is colouring it correctly, as it would have looked historically )))

The hardest part is isolating just one section of the graphic.
mgarnett managed to do it in his Equipment/FX/Campaign Editor.
If you could include the full image to start with, that would be great.
