there is news regarding the Yamato Campaigns 1937–40. :!: I have decided to rework them and merge them into one large campaign. There is quite a bit of work to do: some missions will be revised again, maybe a mission or two will disappear here and there, but I will try to possibly replace them with new ones.

I will also further develop the portrait and briefing window, where hero portraits, scenario graphics, and orders are displayed. Furthermore, throughout the entire campaign there will only be one general.

This will take quite a while – due to the updates from the PAK mod, a lot of new material has been added. For example, at the beginning I had the P-40 Warhawk fighting on the Chinese side due to a lack of other aircraft, but those will be replaced with plane types that actually existed at the time.

So, there’s plenty of work ahead.
Greetings,

Hello vledis,
I will only be able to complete the major Yamato campaign over the course of the next year. However, I am unable to provide an exact date at this time.

Then the question is what is in store for us for the rest of the year or as a Christmas present ? )

Due to time constraints, I have no further plans for this year, neither a campaign nor a scenario.

Hello to everyone who is interested. I’ve made further progress on merging the four Yamato campaigns into one large campaign. Whenever time allows, I continue working on it.I’ve now finished Yamato 37 and am close to completing 38. There are still translations to be done, hero portraits to create, and a few new buildings and units to add. Prestige values and unit stats also need to be adjusted accordingly, along with many other details.
So it will still take some time before I can release this campaign, but as mentioned before, I’m working on the project with full commitment whenever I have time available.

Update: I've revised the individual Yamato campaigns from 1937 to 1940. Players can now keep their core army from Yamato 1937 to Yamato 1940. This wasn't an easy decision, as I had to rework a lot, and I'm not particularly fond of that system myself. The campaigns are compatible with Pak-Mod version 3.40, so everything should work.

Should I decide to continue this series, I will of course adapt the campaigns so that the core army can be retained and included. You should delete the older Yamato 37-40 campaign folders to avoid any potential conflicts with the newer versions.

Hello!
Thank you very much. And yes, I was actually very close to abandoning the project.

I would also like to take this opportunity to point out an issue in the big campaign. In the first mission, “Hainan” of the ’39 campaign, I forgot to remove the second core army. It appears once the enemy Chinese coastal fleet has been sunk.

As a result, the player ends up with both the core army from Yamato ’37–’38 and this second wave, which creates an imbalance in the player’s favor.

Of course, every player can decide for themselves how to handle it: keep it, delete it manually during the mission, or disband it into the reserve when moving on to the next mission and gain additional prestige that way.

However, as a precaution, you should keep General Kanji Ishiwara, who appears with the second wave, because I am no longer completely sure whether he may still be required later in the campaign to complete a mission.

That decision is entirely up to each player, because I will not be revising this campaign for that issue alone.

Naturally, I will still make fixes if serious errors appear and are reported to me. That is certain.

I wish everyone continued fun with the campaign.
