Muromachi Samurai Shieled Archers
I'm working on rebasing my Muromachi Samurai for EoD, and came to the line about Retainers behind shields. These look like useful troops, but I'll be hornswoggled if I have any idea what the standing shields ought to look like. Does anyone have any idea here? Rectangular? Round? What?

Good site, however the one's I've seen in historical documents are about half that size. The ones shown there are more seige sized pavises.zoltan wrote:Think wooden pavises proped up on a stick.

Where did you find those? Very interesting as I was thinking about these today (for another reason).
Scanned them out of Karl Friday's Samurai book.
