Hello, that sounds like a very interesting project you’re working on.
Just a quick question: will it be a standalone mod or a campaign?
I previously worked on a project involving the Roman Empire, but it didn’t work out as a “campaign only,” since sounds and animations can’t be changed that way. For me, it only functioned properly as a standalone mod.
And I have to admit… when you mentioned fantasy, I immediately thought of a dragon — so I ended up designing one for fun. :lol:I will call him Tatsukuro.

I assume a standalone mod. There is a complete new armory that has to be build from scratch but the possibilities for units and campaigns seem to be endless. Actually, I feel the same way.
I’ve taught myself everything I know about modding this game over many years — a lot of it simply by trying things out and seeing what works. That’s exactly what I love about this game, and why I still play it today: you can mod what feels like 80% of it and let your imagination run wild. It’s a pity that it isn’t supported and maintained further by the developer, like Age of Empires, for example.

I would like to have a small campaign out as fast as possible and then i will take it from there. The armory will be very small still but sufficient to create this introduction.

As artillery, perhaps — ranged attacks, indirect damage?
No heavy armor values, few movement points,
range of 1–2 hexes (instead of 2–3),
very little ammunition (e.g., 2–3).

Fantasy General did not have transports, infantry for instance had more movement points or could use a spell to move further.
