rpadilla1988 Crusader W/ Byzantine allies defeats cromlechi Polish W/ German allies 42-16
Crusaders found themselves outnumbered, with both armies facing each other on their respective, undulating hills. Though the Polish fielded more infantry, the Crusaders had the advantage in cav. Both armies stood at range and unleashed volley of arrow fire and bolts at each others lines, crumpling men and horses alike.. but with the mobility of the turcpoles and horse archers, the Crusaders were able to strike at the sides and pick at units. A tough fought battle!

Excellent game fought around a couple of hills. Turned into a battle of attrition but my opponent centre broke and this turned the game in my favour. Thanks for great game and sportsmanship. Cheers Adam

rpadilla Crusader W/ Byzantine allies defeats devoncop Order of St John 53-27
Battle lines were drawn and lapped, to the right was woodland and up the ways a hill that the Order controlled with skirmishers, massed archers and crossbows. The Crusaders brought a sizeable force from the south and pressed to take the hill.. up to the center of the field was another lone hill adjacent to the contested high ground to the right.. at the foot of the hill lay a small town. The Crusaders pressed forward from there and pivot left of the town and with pavisiers and crossbows. Battle occurred on all fronts; the Crusader cav focused on the left and juked and jived, doing damage but taking damage. That small town will have nightmares haunting them for a bit. Both sides left there blood and will on the field; but for sure the Crusaders are more than happy to let bygones be and end this civil silliness.. We've a Holy Land to conquer!

Lunecastle (Aragonese) beats Harveylh (Berber) 61-58
They do not come much closer than this. Everything started pretty even, but then Harvylh started to wear my troops down.
Luckily for me, they held for just long enough for support to arrive. The last two points for Harveylh remained elusive and I started to claw back the points. Fighting was in woods, hills, streams and the open. I just scraped by. Thanks to my
opponent for a great game.

Captainwaltersavage Portuguese 1200-1319 AD with Berber (Marinid)
Defeats
Nijis Lithuanian 1100-1299 with Teutonic Order
61:53
A battlefield divided by a stream and with lots of rough ground provided an excellent playground for the Lithuanians with a host of dismounted bow armed cavalry. We both brought flanking cavalry despite springing a great ambush at one point my Portuguese found it very hard going. Victory was so marginal it could have been down to any number of heroic actions. Another turn would have seen my remaining troops utterly destroyed but they just clinched it. Great game!

A battle of attrition in the open. Just managed to prevail after losing a more comfortable cushion in the last few turns, which had me sweating a bit.

Rosedelio (Polish) defeats Captainwaltersavage (Portuguese) 61-47
Despite an early collapse in the center, the Poles still had enough numbers to trade infantry and surround some knights.

Div C
alexhstandish (Anglo Irish) defeats Indibil (Seljuq Turk) 56:17
The Anglo Irish held a central hill and spread out each side, fearing the mobility of the Turks. The Turks cleverly mustered their force on their right flank which meant the Anglos had to re-deploy their right flank to the left.
The Turks advanced onto the Anglo left flank and a prolonged shooting match took place between longbowmen and horse archers.
The Anglo left managed to hold on long enough for their right flank to relieve pressue and win the day.
Thank you Indibil for a good game.

Gort's brave Anglo-Normans fell victim to my Byzantines on a bloody hill where all the archers dropped their bows and engaged in one massive chaotic melee. Good game sir.

Triarii Castille/Leon (1200-1319) with Granadine (1244-1319)
defeats
Rosedelio Polish 1155-1199 AD with German (North/West) 1155
Score 31-57
We agreed to continue on a mountainous map with two narrow passes - one wooded. It was interesting indeed. The Polish force split into two but a mostly mounted Castillian force, with a much shorter distance between the passes, concentrated on the one force which had come out of the woods. That was only just defeated before the second Polish force arrived not helped by reckless Castillian generals charging onto Polish lances and a real lesson (from R) in very effective defence against superior numbers and troops. Thanks for very tough game.
Triarii Castille/Leon (1200-1319) with Granadine (1244-1319)
defeats
Captainwaltersavage Portugese 1200-1319 AD with Berber (Marinid)
Score 50-61
Very very close on a very tight map featuring some very tough Portugese bowmen and yet more reckless Castillian Generals impaling themselves on lances (and bows). Many thanks.
