When my units start reaching max xp for a campaign i tend to bench them and start creating spares, so i have an extra in case i loose one.
Same for training scenarios. i rarely use them to max out my units, but get some fresh ones and get them to a decent amount of xp to have some spares in case there is a los.
Yes, I know a lot players play like that.
Does not fit to my playstyle. Makes no sense for me to get new units put the veterans in reserve. At least on the german side that makes no sense.
But of course I use trainigs with my latest units to close the exp. gap.
Maybe just ramp up ur diff setting to reduce prestige gain and enhance damage taken, maybe this will even wipe a unit occasionally.
I cant, I am always on highest settings plus DvG. Not sure how I played the PC1 the last time, but in the AO Redone mod I only turned DvG off occasionally, when the random units are already Goliaths

And I almost never lose units, I tend to cheat with the "old guard" trait. And sometimes I even reload a scenario, when I played too careless, while watching movies/videos

That can happen in 1944/1945 when I think, "hey, its a King Tiger, what can happen?" and the bad game mechanics in the lategame show me what can happen...
What i think is more important than XP especially in long campaigns are the medalls.
Another reason why I always use my veterans. You set the numbers very high in the mods, so I always try to farm as much kills as possible.
Supporting awards are only possible for me with decent heroes, like double support/ camo and stuff.

I invented a new mechanic for the 44/45 campaign and decided to have it tested in the Demyansk Pocket scenario of 1941 to make sure it works propperly.
Here´s the explanation, please let me know if anything is unclear and needs more info.
This brings a new strategic depth into the game, sounds pretty nice, but like always, I have to play it first.
It this complementary to the encirclement mechanic or replacement?
