Division C
RussellGardener1964 (Turkish) defeated Rockmanbob123 (Anglo-Saxon with Viking allies) 47-19
Victory was largely achieved by isolating my enemy's units and ganging up with 3-5 horse archer units and picking them off piecemeal.
Thank you for a great game.

Division C
RussellGardener1964 (Turkish) and IMC (Viking) recorded a draw. My opponent was 1 point away from victory, at 44-20, but I kept running away, like the coward I am, to hold out for a draw
Many thanks for the game.

Division A
markleslie Auxumite 100-970 AD with Beja 250-849 AD defeats random27 Andalusian 756 -1049 AD + spanish 718-899 AD allies 43-8.
Turn 7: neglected to take a shot of starting positions, here the sides are already fully engaged.

Both sides began by very slightly shuffling here and there while the skirmishers had their time to shine, or not.
Eventually the extended lines of the parties met at the stream in the centre, as is the fashion in these times, and fought it out til the conclusion.
Turn 10: once contact was made the battle resolved fairly quickly.

This day God favoured the big battalions and impact worked reasonably well against the enemy foot, quickly routing their opponents, while their lancers proved too often to be ineffective to aid Andalusian hopes.
To my opponent, the path to righteous victory lies through God. Salute!

Division A
markleslie Danish 1200-1319 AD with Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD defeats Cherebuschka Baltic Tribes 1050-1283 AD with Lithuanian 1100-1299 AD allies 51-25.
Turn 11: a protracted period of marching and the swatting of flies.

My Danes refused to approach the woods so there was little to do but stare, twiddle my thumbs and see if I could reach the other end of the board. My opponent however had other ideas and decided to throw caution to the wind and advanced out on to the plain to try his impact luck. Having already given up on getting a result I offered the Balts a draw, he declined and boldly pressed on.
Turn 19: the end.

The Danish Balts got the worst of it, not doing very well at all and may have to reconsider their career choices. Fortunately the Danish spearmen, generally, got the better of the enemy with some slight help from the knights who seemed to spend most of their time pursuing rather than fighting.
If you find yourself alone, riding in the green fields with the sun on your face, do not be troubled.
Salute!

angusosborne (Ghaznavid) defeats alexhstandish (Lithuanian) 56-31
The Lithuanian set up defensively between a forest and some rough ground. We advanced slowly, attempting to surround them.
The key here was delivering Dailami and Elephants without losing morale. My cavalry left flank was broken easily,.

DIV A
GDod Indo-Greek/Indian beat frederic02 Avar 41/2
The field was turned 90 degrees to take advantage of terrain with woods on each flank and a central patch of rough. The Avars formed up, but their lights were caught falling back, The irregular foot and cavalry sent to relief the pressure were also sent packing by timely elephant charges. Meanwhile, the center Avar light infantry skirmishers were sent packing and the Indian right flank anchored in the wood were more than holding it's own against determined light cavalry skirmishing.
frederic02 had a very hard position to take and could have easily played for a draw. So, kudos to him.

Deeter (Carthage) defeats Aetius39 (Sparta) 63-49.
The Spartan army was nearly all heavy spears of various types with a few cavalry and skirmishers. Carthage had more of a balance with strong cavalry that wouldn't fare well against that array, so the infantry lined up on a hill while the cav probed both flanks. The Spartans managed to crush one flank but the cav managed evade spears guarding their rear and win the day. Good game!

Aetius (Byzantines) defeats random27 (Indians) 60-35
The game was hung in the balance for a bit with Indian archers hurting some Byzantine cavalry early on, but the Byzantine infantry helped turn the tide, and eventually pulled out the win. GG!

Aetius (Spartan) defeats tyronec (Thracians) 64-45
The Spartans managed to keep the Thracians on open ground, and although they put up a good fight, eventually were overwhelmed by the Spartan heavy infantry, while minimizing their potential deadly cavalry. GG!

Aetius (Sea Peoples) defeats ianiow (Hittites) 70-31
The armies met in the middle of the map, and they became embroiled in a very messy, close, tight melee. It seemed to benefit the Sea People, limiting the Hittites deadly chariots. Even so, it was a fairly close game until the end, when the score blew up with a bunch of routs. GG!
