The first pack I made (the european one) is already close to finish it's tranformation into a campaign! Organizing a campaign was faster than what I expected; I had some difficulties since it is my first one; but I found how to deal with each problem I had
I just need tomorrow to do the last touch. I have to write the "defeat debriefings", create conditions for marginal and decisive victories, and try a little bit if everything work as intended. Levels of this chapter were short, so I should finish my test quickly... if everything work correctly, at least


My project begin to be more and more how I intended it to be

Surprisingly Russian mechanised brigades are beating my Ukrainian units and this is only the first map )))Now I'm trying to keep all important points from the mass armoured horde )










This is great news when there will be a company there will be a sense to save and pump up your guard )

Maybe our games begin to become mad due to the high quantity of content we add.

I'll check about the difficulty of the first mission.
Just an advice : try to protect only one victory point until the reinforcments arrive. Remember that you command a badly trained unit vastly outnumbered at the start of the battle, they can't accomplish miracles alone. Once more troops arrives, you can reconquer another VP easily

You can now play the start of the story as it was intented
You will now keep your core units (and spare prestige points; save them well because this core will be used in future european chapters ); you unlock equipment as you progress ; images of units were changed to give a different feeling ; etc... Plenty of things to enjoy!

Installation is even more easy : just unzip the folder "Europe Chapter 01" and put it in "My Games/Panzer Corps/mods".


Fast reminder, so that you know what you will play : in this pack, you lead the french troops of operation Barkhane as they hunt a dangerous warlord in Mali, in 2021. (4 scenarios)




Another big step will be to learn how to make units. Not having FAMa (malian armed forces) units as auxiliaries was one of my biggest regret when I created the maps.
But it will await. I have to transform other packs as campaigns; and finish the two first parts of the story. I've just made half of the 1st and 2nd parts; I will not look at how to make new units as long as they are not finished!

I guess the second mission of the chinese campaign drove you mad since you played it again and again and again

Exchange ground for time. While you are outnumbered, don't be too agressive. I took myself some unnecessary actions that cost me a couple of units. (I don't care about auxiliary; but losing a core is always sad.)
You only need 1 point out of the 3 until turn 21 to hinder the russian advance, it's not necessary to rush all 3 victory points. Even the last objective, for turn 30, requiered only 2 of them. I decided to push and capture the 3 (I intend to let the capture of all 3 victory hex at turn 30 a decisive victory in the campaign; while keeping 2 as in this scenario the marginal victory), but it was by slowly advancing while always being supported by artillery.

Well it works and it's cool )))) But for those who have played these maps as a separate scenario it will be easier )))) For example, in the first mission I knew that the enemy has no air defence equipment as their tanks with ZU -2 -23 are busy fighting with my troops and boldly landed in the rear of the enemy ))) But now that the units are valuable I save them and pump them up as we are now a combat family )) I hope the core of my troops will go to Mali 2 or wherever you plan to send the French thugs ))))) Local troops can be organised as a folkstorm from WW2 as long as there are no full-fledged units from that country ))))

I have decided to be more direct, but why not

I wasn't too keen on hunting down igil this time)))) So my military mechanism worked like a well-oiled expensive watch and I even finished faster ))))) And where is the mission about African villages I demand it back 5 map, as I already understand what and how to do there and probably the only one who was able to pass it I should have filmed a replay at this point ))))) Only now I will find a comment from the cheat sheet on the updated version where you have to infiltrate behind enemy lines avoiding patrols and rescue captured hostages ))))

Firstly, the announcement : the first US pack is currently being transformed into a campaign, and this campaign will be released tomorrow

Reminder : this campaign is about the United States efforts to help the Syrian Democratic Forces against ISIL in 2017-2018; with the player commanding a small US marine unit (his core) that have to support their allies.

With the new campaign, a little update for the first european one will arrive. Nothing important, just changing a little bit the prestige points and fix small mistakes. For exemple, I remove the picture appearing in double in the mission 3 briefing; removing a text script that was important when it was a single scenario but useless now that it is in a campaign; etc...



What next? Don't await the russian and ukrainian campaigns immediately after this one. I want to add 3 Russian missions first; so you will have to wait a few weeks before those are ready.



To Uzbek : Since the new Europe 03 intend to replace the original one, the first you knew is now just a bonus scenario in the maps pack... But maybe I'll add it as a choice. When the player finish mission 2, he could choose between the old or the new one. It could be a nice option to add

In this pack, you are facing the russian army at his full strengh; so don't try to win with brute force. The timer is on your side, so take your time and play defensive. Keep your units close and supported to not have anyone overwhelmed and focus your attacks on weakened units.

Still, the company is always better than single maps, unless of course in it is not possible to play for both sides of the conflict ) From this American pack I have an impression as if I play for the Kurds, and the Yanks so help me a little )))) Well and as usual a mountain of screenshots and replay are attached ))))

Well and the 4th mission where a handful of Americans and local Kurds confront the Turkish armada and the now legitimate government in Syria )))) I hope we don't get swept away in this Turkish gambit )))))


















It was an epic massacre I got so carried away that I forgot that you can't attack roadblocks in the city ))))) So there were more Turks and Syrian opposition, but I won nonetheless ))))) Turkish helicopters and planes felt very free in our skies, but hopefully one day our mod will include fighters with MANPADS.

But I had to sell my helicopters as there are no airfields for US units.)

I tried adjusting the difficulty of Afrin in the campaign.
The terrain is more favorable with more obstacles and fortifications to hinder the attacker; the US can recruit better equipment and has one more core slot than in the map pack; but... he has to survive one more turn

I hesitated between adding one round or two: since I see the Turks right in front of Afrin at the last one in your screenshot, I guess I made the good choice to only add one and not two


I'll watch the replay. I like to watch a desperate defense (and see if a player still have core units available in the end)


PS : There will be a sequel for this campaign: helicopters could have been useful in the following parts of the US campaign... but maybe more prestige points were needed in Afrin anyway
