I'm not understanding the format.
I'm listed as a player in the left column and an opponent in the right, am I player one and am setting up the game or is it lascar, are we both player one's and we're playing two games?

Anyway to get things moving I've set up a game with lascar, the great and powerful Zhou need no stinking (literally, they stink of horse) allies.
markleslie Chinese (Five Dynasties-Zhou) 951-960 AD
challenges
lascar Chinese (Five Dynasties-Liang) 907-923 AD with Uygher 840-1046 AD allies.

This may make more sense Mark. I posted the table for rankings and recording the points differencemarkleslie wrote: ↑Sun Feb 25, 2024 3:35 am I'm not understanding the format.

I took the liberty of setting up our game pw = gdod
Footnote: I forgot to set up the chinese allies...doh! but on reflection, wouldn't that be fun if allies were reduced in points but have the possibility of not turning up, changing sides, or just refusing to advance... now there's an idea for a tournament!
Latest table: Only Nick's choice of smelly horse tribe ally to come.

Re: Silk Road Add-on - two battle challenge
How does everyone feel about following this two battle challenge with
Option 1
Option 2
Option 1
- FOG2 Medieval Silk Road Mod for Yuan and Ming Dynasty
Option 2
- add compulsory 500 point composition for allies with a random percentage chance they will remain stationary for x number of turns TBA by umpire to each player before? or after? deployment

Both options sound like good proposals, yes on both.
Re: Silk Road Add-on - two battle challenge
Liang (Lascar) defeat Zhou (Markleslie) 50/60.
The Zhou fought followed a well executed battle plan, coming close to defeating the Liang army.
However, in the last remaining moments of the battle the Liang prevailed in several critical encounters.

Well done Mark for keeping the difference in points minimal.Although, maybe you should have considered the stinky horse tribe perhaps?

Khitan with their Jin allies defeats Five dynasties Liang with their Khitan turncoats.
The Khitan's had a strong right, as did the Liang. Both flanks collapsed under the weight. However, the Khitan's and Jin managed to gather their force in the centre quicker than the Liang. Although, they were hard pressed they carried the day (only just!) A tense match Indibil, a great comeback.

Re: Silk Road Add-on - two battle challenge
GentlemanRanker’s Tang with Uyghur(Gaochang) allies defeated ahuyton’s Zhou with Uyghur(Gaochang) allies by 60 to 39.
The scores advance neck-and-neck until the last third of the game, with both left wings collapsing under sustained cavalry pressure. The deciding factor proved to be the greater availability of cheap Tang horse archers to wrap around behind the Zhou line and flank, afforded by not taking the elite Yabing at 96 points. The fickle Uyghur warbands proved to be just as brittle in combat as their European counterparts …
A fun game against a wily opponent, thank you Alan!
