I'll give it a play as soon as I've beat a rather nasty covid-attack.
I even had to cancel playing with my band at my daughter's wedding-party :(
Wow, get well soon!

Thanks, conboy.
The worst thing is the lack of energy, even for fun things like creating OOB stuff.

If you resign a core unit you cannot use the freed up command points to deploy another core until next turn.
There's also an option in the editor that will block the command points for the rest of the scenario.

New Britain 1943-45 3.3

Post by Erik2 »

New Britain 1943-45 3.3
Link updated in first post.

New campaign map
Small changes to Allied specialisations
Small changes to branches
Added CP block refunding to all scenarios
Added US and Japanese commanders to all scenarios
Replaced jungle/path with forest/path to facilitate movement a bit.

Known issues:
The Aussie engineer 41' and 42' unit types have faulty aavailability/expiration dates (reported).
Also the Aussie Commando units used as DLC rewards are not available in the editor. Too bad since the designers need to use substitute units.

Erik - great Operation Olympic so far! But I can't figure out how to select either the Eastern, Southern, or Western beach set of scenarios. Where is the clickable "location ring"? (probably a stupid question, but I've clicked just about everything, and tried every known hotkey...

The first scenario Tanegashima is a single map, no selections there.
After finishing this you get to select the landing in the next scenario.

I downloaded Winter War 1939 version 2.2 and the zip file is named 2.2
In the text file, on the campaign screen and in the save screen it still shows version 2.1
Not sure if it is the newest version and just a text display issue or that the older version is in a newer zip file.
I was wondering what the right answer to that question was?
Fun campaign.

Bru and Erik,

I just finished the first scenario of Operation Olympic, Tanegashima. I was only able to get a narrow victory because I could not suppress the island in the upper left corner of the map. I destroyed everything on the island, landed troops to cap the objective point, and had the troops traverse the rest of the island. What do I have to do in order to suppress the island?

Also, it appears that there are not enough carrier hangar slots for all of the aircraft in the carrier fleet. There are only three hangar slots available at the beginning of the scenario, one on each CV, but the scenario starts with four F6F squadrons aloft over the carrier fleet. I added a CVL to provide an additional hangar slot, but is there something else that is supposed to be done about the extra F6F squadron instead?

EDIT: Never mind, I just used the cheat console to get the major victory.

Hi BrucErik,
I just played the Kuolajarvi- Redemption for Salla level in the Continuation War campaign thrice. All three times I ended up with major defeat, because I was unable to capture 4/4 objective points. The first time I used panzer and infantry and capped 2/4 by the end- turn 25, my best attempt. The next time I brought in my long-range artillery which got harassed by Soviet infantry waiting to ambush me in my rear. Retreating enemy units had to be dealt with or they would recover their strength and return to sever my supply line. In my third try I went mostly infantry to deal with the rear threat, but still capped only 1/4 just like the second attempt.
The level seems impossible to win. Thus, I propose some changes: First, increase the turn limit from 25 to 40. Second, give some RP (about 100 for each faction) to recover from the previous battle. If the level is possible to win, would you please post a video on how to do it?
By the way, how do you upload a picture from PC to this forum?
Sincerely, redStick

Hello,

I was playing your British and Canadian d-day campaign and at the end of the Juno 2nd day scenario, I got this popup when I was expecting a "Major Victory".

Easy workaround for me was #igotnukes, so it's not a problem, but thought I would mention it, as if it's related to the recent update the bug might appear in more scenarios than just this one.

Thanks to both of you for your contributions to the community

Sorry for the non-descriptive post, I thought I had uploaded a screenshot that more accurately showed what happened. I've uploaded it to the orignal post now.
