Re: GS V3.10 possible change - Scapa Flow
Taking a quick look online, I agree with Gog. I don't see how Scapa Flow could provide any significant amount of supply once the rest of Great Britain was occupied.

Re: Spanish partisan in Africa (not Spanish Morocco)
That would make sense. I am not sure having Morocco form Spanish partisans or be assigned to Spain once Spain is active in the game makes sense from a historical perspective. I guess the intent was that, for Spain to be activated, Morocco would already be Axis controlled and then (in theory) given t...

Spanish partisan in Africa (not Spanish Morocco)
I am playing a GS 3.0 game, hotseat, with the Spanish in the war as part of the Axis. The Western Allies have liberated Agradir and Casablanca, which apparently was not popular with the local population as Spanish partisans have risen up south of Casablanca... :) See picture below I assume this is a...

Re: GS v3.01 slight modifications for testing
Are you also considering putting in the option of strategic bombing for tacs? I don't know how often tacs would actually be used for strategic bombing, and therefore it may not be worth the coding effort, but since they were used for strategic bombing at times in the real war It might be fun to have...

Re: Thanks guys
Been away from the game for awhile and just downloaded 3.0. It amazes me how you guys continue to improve this game. Love the changed naval combat and the weather depicted on the map! Thanks for sharing this! I only wish I had more time to play it...

Re: Proper Game etiquette -- or -- when is it ok to resign?
Good points. And the system also wouldn't take into account that players can change over time. So it wouldn't be useful. I think what all this does mean is that it is probably worth discussing what your expectations exactly are with new opponents.

Re: Proper Game etiquette -- or -- when is it ok to resign?
Just look at the game between Morris and Joerock. Morris was only a few hexes away from Omsk and Joe had fought a valiant defense in Russia against the overwhelming Axis forces. He struggled back into the game when nobody believed he had a chance. Morris was pushed back and suddenly we saw that Joe...

Re: Best features of GS 2.1?
There are so many great improvements in GS that it is difficult to just pick a couple. But here are my top 2: 1. Contested beach landings. In the vanilla game you couldn't land troops if the beach was occupied by any unit, and a few garrisons could often stop a landing cold. In GS, you can force uni...

Thanks!

Re: Late game lag
This change and no more lag is such a breath of fresh air. The game plays like it should. The lag had slowed it down such much for me that playing my turn had become chore; now it's fun again! It's only after this fix that I now realize how much of a burdened the lag was putting on my play. The fun...

Re: Morris vs Joe Rock
Nice attack in France Morris! I don't know why people thought you might be low in oil, as far as I can tell the Axis haven't done much to burn oil for many turns in this game.
I'm pulling for you in this game since it seems most other players are pulling for Joerock. Good luck!

Re: Morris vs Plaid (no Morris here please)
I see what you are saying but based on your and other AARs it is even worse to have a failed Overlord, at least IMO. A strong strategic bombing campaign like I believe you did in your second AAR seems like a good idea. Being a pain in the butt in Norway also seems like a good strategy plus a lot of ...

Re: Morris vs Plaid (no Morris here please)
Thanks for posting this Plaid, I didn't really understand the Morris strategy until this AAR. A key component of his strategy seems to be baiting his opponent into invading France and holding the Western Allies off until he gets around to dealing with them. In the meantime, if he manages this, he ca...

Re: GS Beta Testers - Looking for Opponents
I have 1-2 games going as Axis and am looking to play a GS 2.1 pre-release game as Allies. I would say I have a moderate skill level but am willing to play anyone. I can do 1 turn a day (occasionally will miss a day), sometimes 2 on weekends. PM me if interested. Update: Closed. Thanks to those who ...

Re: Future of CEAW
I have a feeling that I am alone on this, but I actually think there shouldn't be an odds calculator at all. I also think you shouldn't be able to see the tech levels of the enemy when you put the mouse on them. That would be more realistic IMO for a war game. All offensives should carry some risk f...

Re: GS Beta Bug Reporting
I was looking at the 1942 scenario and happened to notice that the Volunteer Stundarte NW unit in Dijon has a British garrison skin. I think this unit was probably intended to have the German garrison skin. Not an important "bug" but I thought I would post it since I saw it.

Re: Final discussion about game balance
I hope the conditions for Vichy France entry if the Axis abandon Africa aren't part of the GS 2.1 release (or any subsequent release for that matter). This to me seems like a major change and I don't think the assumption (Vichy France would enter on the side of the Allies if Africa was abandoned) is...
