Alright then! This really isn't specific to GS; but an interesting question. What do the "D" and "H" stand for in D-day and H-hour? And in what war did this terms originate?

You are correct. You didn't happen to see, "Ike: Countdown to D-day" on an "Officer and Movie" on the Military Channel last weekend? That was one of their questions.

You have the initiative. :D

Imagine the scenario where the Axis launches a blitz of the low countries on turn 2 and capture Den Hague but fail to capture Brussels. What are the negative effects for the Axis.

No morale penalty for the Allied units in France and their air units in France and GB.

Correct. And, they won't get it later when they do conquer Brussels. You're up Cybvep.

Is this true for failure to take both countries in 1940 in 1 turn as well?

It is possible to get 1 supply status overseas even if the unit has no access to non-terrain hexes (cities, fortresses etc.) and there are no naval units near coastal hexes. Give one example of such a situation.

You just have to take Brussels - if you fail to take both you could be in trouble but it is only Brussels that determines whether the French and Brits get the negative morale penalty.

Yes. Every Axis player should be able to take both Holland and Belgium in 1 turn in a fair weather turn.

The key is to take Belgium in 1 turn. That causes the French morale loss.
