That is because, Their main weapon is war bow, and their armor(yoroi、 鎧) is already heavy for wearer and horse.

Scouting and ambushing seems to be great. One thing I feel sad is there are many battles and subtle battle descriptions,

The story itself is not historical, it is fictional, though battle sequences and costumes seems to be authentic.
