Personally, I think roman auxilla are by far superior to roman spearmen. The rough terrain benefits more than make up for a slight increase in durability and a resitance to cavalry. Want those? Get real heavy infantry. The auxilia is the best light infantry troops you can get, while you can get far...

I think that early on should minimize the need for militias. I feel they're bit too vulnerable in the long run, and give no good punch. I'd say anything else is better to build on. I also agree that basically there are no useless units in game. I've found atleast that each has some merits. Only miti...

Disengage/retreat bug
Small bug I've noticed. This happens if I have disengaged cavalry from enemy, as it retreat to almost edge of screen on my side. When cavalry turns back to face enemy, something odd happens sometimes. The cavalry moves back and forth like somebody would be playing with videos controls, rewinding tap...

I think you will notice that if the enemy gets close enough, your troops will leap into combat (unless they are shooting) without orders. In some situtations this can be a pain. So what I like to create - if I have strong unts - is a large 'scrum' which most of the combat is going on. Stick my gene...

Sounds good if the engine is part of a strategy game. However, i guess that we woulnd't have much left to do if it was implemented in this game, no? But i agree that it would be more realistic and would be a necessity if the maps get bigger. Hmmm....maybe you're right. But in a way I feel the comma...

I found solution. Instead of clicking left button I click the right one! :-) Still the set of ready orders I'd welcome. Why do I have each time after something has happened give an order? Can't generals in real life give simple steps to units what to do? I'm pretty sure Alexander the Great and Caesa...

On the subject of cavalry. Because it is expensive you tend to get it later on in the game but you are going to need it. In some of the later scenerios you are given a time limit to win and fast good cavalry is really useful. When you first get cavalry, use it to slaughter skirmishers, thats the be...

Hardest difficulty level, command ability and way troops act
Maybe this is RTFM question, but shouldn't I be able to command movement of troops that after they've routed opponents, by clicking my unit and the sword that forms above enemy troops? Well, I can't. And I haven't given any orders(except maybe a signal). I have some difficulties winning against the ...
